I am trying to recreate a Trace Network in order to add some complex edges I'd left out of my original conversion. After disabling topology and deleting the UN I attempted to create another but receive the message: 160084: Cannot create a dirty area outside the topology's spatial domain.—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation But unfortunately no documented solutions. Any ideas?

Have a way to show the Utility Network layout visually as per the attached. When I was putting ours together as a total newbie it was a nightmare looking through Network Properties to understand how it was structured.

I guess I can just post as a new post? I know one thing for sure there's got to be a better way to represent the Utility Network. When I was learning the UN and putting ours together it was nightmare looking into Network Properties to find out why I was having certain issues not to mention understanding the entire structure of the Water Template Model I used.

Also handy would be a visual way to look at the network Tiers, see the attached for ours.

Since nobody has chimed in I'll say all we do here is create a new piece of pipe and put a coupler/reducer at the intersection(s). This works equally well in either the Geometric, Trace or Utility Network. Since you're interested in linear referencing I wonder if there is anything in ESRI's CCTV template that could help you? I haven't looked at it but any CCTV I've been involved in used linear referencing. CCTV Manager | ArcGIS Solutions

I imagine you've seen this? Water_Utilities_Data_Model.pdf (esri.com) Thinking of the same so hoping this thread will provide some answers.

I've been pondering that idea for quite some time. Currently I treat it as one line. As we have around 5,000 water laterals it would just be too much work and little return.

I stole it from the Sewer Utility Network Editor at https://solutions.arcgis.com/water/help/sewer-utility-network-editor/ and made some modifications to it color wise. Still an ongoing process and as you can see my mainline taps still aren't rotated yet.

If your concern is getting to Pro you could simply port your Geometric Network to ArcPro's Trace Network which is what I did. It does not have the ability to do Isolation traces but I am certain you can do upstream/downstream, someone correct me if I'm wrong. There is a tool in Pro that called "Convert Geometric Network to Trace Network" that will do this but be sure to make a copy first as it will restructure your existing file. UN is a huge complicated beast you may or may not need, I have my Water System in it as a local geodatabase (Don't have Enterprise) as a test bed and I'm still trying to get it straightened out.

The solution to this issue is to make sure you have no definition queries defined (delete or turn off if need be) and be certain in your feature class symbology to have a "all other values" defined. For me it was a combination of both that was making the items creating the errors invisible and unable to be selected for a fix.

Looks like the only way is to delete the trace network and redo with complex edges.

I converted our Storm System in the Geometric Network over to the Trace but realize my storm piping should likely be complex edge. Is there any way to change this?

I normally can fix Error 25 in the way you mention but in this case nothing is there to select. I have the same issue on another Trace Network for our Water System, in one spot 12 stacked objects.

I have dirty areas that can't be solved, in my case they are listed as stacked point features but I am unable to select any objects at that point. (see attached). I did try unloading and reloading topology to no avail.
