Have a field that contains URL's. Would like to pop open from within the AttributeInspector somehow. Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to do this? Thanks!

Does anyone know how to increase the width of the fields displayed by the AttributeEditor using ActionScript or other method? I thought skins may be the answer but do not see any examples on how to do this. Thanks!

This problem was resolved in my case by making sure to specify the outfields for the layer that was added to the map. Example: var featureLayer:FeatureLayer = new FeatureLayer; featureLayer.outFields = ['*'];

Robert, True, and then I could just turn the layer on and off. However, the feature layer is added to the TOC when it is added to the map and I was wanting to remove it when the widget is closed to avoid redundancy and confusion. Should be a way to do this. I will keep looking and post the answer after I figure it out ... unless, of course, one of you other fine FLEXers comes to my rescue first :-).

I am creating a modified Edit widget allows one to specify which layers will be added to the map and be made available for editing. I want to dynamically add the referenced layers when the widget is opened and remove them when it is closed. The code below works but when I reopen the widget the layers are not added to the map which makes sense as that is done in init(). However, moving it to the widgetOpenedHandler causes the layers to be redundantly added. I see a couple of threads regarding "really closing" widgets. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. [Bindable] private var featureLayersToAdd:Array = new Array; [Bindable] private var layerArray:Array = new Array; private function init():void { if (configXML) // checking for valid content in the configuration file { var lyrList:XMLList = configXML..layer; var URL:String; var name:String; var layerid:String; for (var i:Number = 0; i < lyrList.length(); i++){ URL = lyrList.@url; name = lyrList.@name; layerid = lyrList.@name; layerArray.push({iLayerName:name,iLayerURL:URL,iLayerID:layerid}); } for (i = 0; i < layerArray.length; i++) { var layerToAdd:FeatureLayer = new FeatureLayer; layerToAdd.url = layerArray.iLayerURL; layerToAdd.name = layerArray.iLayerName; layerToAdd.id = layerArray.iLayerID; map.addLayer(layerToAdd); featureLayersToAdd.push(layerToAdd); } editor.featureLayers = featureLayersToAdd; } } private function widgetClosedHandler(event:Event):void { for (var i:Number = 0; i < layerArray.length; i++) { var layerToRemove:Layer = new Layer; layerToRemove = map.getLayer(layerArray.iLayerID); map.removeLayer(layerToRemove); } editor.featureLayers = []; }

Robert, I am setting sublayer visibility programatically in another widget and would like to know how to update the TOC. I have looked all over the Forum and found some older posts that seem relevant but have not been able to make it happen. I am thinking that things have changed quite a bit since these older posts and was wondering if you could comment? Thank you. Keith

I am using several event layers. The widget works as expected with the exception of grid interaction which assumes the existence of a common OID. Robert, how would you handle this? Perhaps it would be possible to create a unique ID for members of the selection set and base communication on that? Perhaps there is a way to force creation of an OID when creating the event layers, though I do not see how that is possible if one is not creating physical records. Any input would be appreciated.

Mark, I read that the unique values list does not populate if the underlying table does not have an object ID field. This presents an issue relative to using the widget to query mapservice layers that were created as event themes. Any possibility of a modification to overcome this issue? Thanks you. Keith

I am problematically adding a layer to a map and exporting to PDF. It is a point layer and it is added to the TOP. I am refreshing the TOC afterwards. Labels from other layers are overlapping these point features in spite of the fact that I set feature weight to high on the added layer. The layer whose labels overlap is not set to allow overlapping labels. Does anyone know why this is happening and what to do about it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Spent all day yesterday trying to isolate and is something simple as usual. The operational map service had extents that were inconsistent with the basemap map service. Lesson - always remember to specify custom extents that are consistent for all mapservices that are used in mobile.

I am unable to see an ArcSDE operational layer when I add it to ArcGIS Mobile Project Center. The data is in SQLServer and it is being served by a mapservice that has mapping, feature and mobile capabilities enabled. SOM and SOC have database permissions. I do not receive errors when I add the layer to the map. The schema is also being read as evidenced by table fields being displayed when viewing the layer's form definition. Anyone have ideas?
