Operational Layer not Visible in ArcGIS Mobile

I am unable to see an ArcSDE operational layer when I add it to ArcGIS Mobile Project Center. The data is in SQLServer and it is being served by a mapservice that has mapping, feature and mobile capabilities enabled. SOM and SOC have database permissions. I do not receive errors when I add the layer to the map. The schema is also being read as evidenced by table fields being displayed when viewing the layer's form definition.

Anyone have ideas?

Spent all day yesterday trying to isolate and is something simple as usual. The operational map service had extents that were inconsistent with the basemap map service. Lesson - always remember to specify custom extents that are consistent for all mapservices that are used in mobile.
