In many of our Workflow Manager 10.2.2 workflows we have applied the step property "Proceeds to the next step after execution" and "Automatically executes when reached". However, I am finding that this does not always function as expected especially in some of our workflows that contain a loop. For instance, we have workflows where steps are executed multiple times (contain editing iterations). Is there a known bug out there for this? Has anyone else experienced this? It is a nuisance to our users to have to click "Run current step" every time. Thanks, Heather

Our company already uses Workflow Manager extensively for desktop based editing. Users with training in GIS use the workflows to add information to our corporate database. We are starting a new project where we plan to introduce more non-GIS users to simple editing. For instance, we want road construction supervisors to be able to draw on a map the location where a culvert was installed or the length of road that was graded. Ideally, a web-based Workflow Manager configuration would manage versioning, user login and provide simple workflows for approvals. Has anyone been able to implement basic editing in this way? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a similar question. We already use workflow manager extensively for desktop editing and would like to branch out to include web-based editing. I like the idea of using workflow manager workflows to help manage versioning while removing the requirement for more basic users to have access to a full ArcMap installation. Any new thoughts on this?

Never mind, I got it working. I needed to grant the user running the ArcGIS Server service access to my JTX_ tables.

I have an existing workflow manager (10.2.2) instance that I have been working with for a few months. I recently installed the ArcGIS Workflow Manager for Server extension and restarted the ArcGIS Server service but I have not been able to publish a Workflow Manager Service. I have feature classes in an SQL sde database that are in a child version of DEFAULT. What I want to do is append the features from one feature class into another. When I run the append tool in ArcMap (using only connections to my child version) the append still occurs on the DEFAULT. Any idea what I am missing? I want this routine to be part of a python script that runs on a schedule. I need to work in a versioned environment to prevent conflicts. Thanks, Heather

I have moved all my jobs, steps, notifications etc over to my 10.2.2 Workflow Manager application and I forgot to grab all the production users. Is there a faster way to bring them over rather than adding them all in one by one? We have 100+ users with many groups that need to be configured. Help! Heather

We are in the process of rolling out a 10.2.2 ArcGIS enterprise solution. Our old 9.3 JTX tables had a mixture of data access levels (UPDATE and SELECT), and I am looking for the minimum requirement for user access in Workflow Manager. Thanks, Heather

We have an existing ArcGIS mobile application running on Trimble Juno units and we are successfully using domain values to populate a drop down. Users have requested additional options be added to the drop down list so I added the values to the domain on the database and restarted the services. Unfortunately, I am not seeing the new options in my drop down on the data collector even after synchronizing all the feature classes. Do I need to republish the service or re-download the project to make this change show up on the data collectors? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, Heather

Tope, This is the issue I am able to see with the logging level set at 3. I have increased the logging level to 5 this morning to do more testing but so far haven't been able to duplicate the issue. I am confused how users can be denied access to the job Mxd when they have access to the job type and steps. 10/30/2014 10:07:33.909 Level: 3 Exception Thrown: Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A0046 (CTL_E_PERMISSIONDENIED) at ESRI.ArcGIS.JTX.IJTXJob.RetrieveMXD(String strMXDFilePath) at JTXDesktopSteps.LaunchArcMap.GetMXDSource(IJTXJob job, String sharepath, String altpath, Boolean& isnew, String& mxdsource) at JTXDesktopSteps.LaunchArcMap.Execute(Int32 jobID, Int32 stepID, Object[]& argv, IJTXCustomStepFeedback& feedback)

Has anyone come across this message when trying to launch ArcMap from a Workflow? It seems to be inconsistent across users and job types. When you click OK you are returned to Workflow Manager. Help!

Tope, Due to project deadlines I am going to have to drop the clean up step out of my workflows. Is there a way I can script and schedule the deletion of job Mxds and versions? I was hoping we could run a weekly clean up to remove these components related to closed jobs. Thanks, Heather

Tope, Can you tell me what the difference is between an error stating "The version is currently in use" and "The operation is not allowed while editing"? I did some testing over the weekend with creating locks on versions and came across these two different error messages. Thanks, Heather

Tope, I did some more testing and there is a lock on the version that is maintained at the end of our "Custom Reconcile" step and is subsequently unlocked after the "Custom Post Step". Clean Up is in the workflow after this and although the version manager tells me that the version is not locked I get an error that the version cannot be deleted because it is in use. As before, if I close Workflow Manager and relaunch it there is no issue. Next I will try making a simpler workflow and see if I get the same issue. Thanks, Heather
