I found the answer to the geometry question. The missing piece is the spatialReference when calculating the geometry field. This was my final expression: '{' + ' "x":'+ Longitude + ',' + ' "y":'+ Latitude + ',' + ' "spatialReference":{"wkid":4326} }'

Hi Alex, I added the piece for calculating the geometry using your recommended syntax and I'm not getting any errors in the log that I can see. However, now that it is hooked up to the feature service update output tool only the attributes are getting updated and not the position. Is there another way I can test to see if any geometry is getting generated? Thanks, Heather

Alex, Thanks for the pattern, it worked great! I still need to add the next step to create geometry and I'll work on that over the next couple of days. In the meantime, here is a sample of the xml for one placemark. I'm hoping to extract the speed and the time. We are in the Atlantic time zone so I'm guessing the time inside the "CDATA" tag is the best one for us to use. Thanks! <Placemark>

Main Street, New Brunswick, Canada

 20/07/2017 10:37:01
Lat/Lng: 46.174067, -65.886867
Speed: 0.0 kph
Altitude: 11.0 m
Heading: 314°

<TimeStamp> <when>2017-07-20T09:37:01-04:00</when> </TimeStamp> <styleUrl>#asset18131</styleUrl> <Point> <coordinates>-65.8868666666667,46.1740666666667,11</coordinates> </Point> </Placemark>

Is it possible to grant users access to online E-Learning using an enterprise Portal login? Our primary ArcGIS platform is Portal, not ArcGIS Online, and we'd like to reduce the number of user accounts each user needs to understand and manage. Thanks, Heather

Hi Alex! I have great news! It turns out I was missing the XML Object Name parameter on my input, now I'm receiving great GeoEvents. The next issue I'm encountering is using the regular expressions. This is the field I am getting for "Coords": -67.9301166666667,47.1880166666667,149 Using your instructions, I've been able pull out the first number but I'm having trouble getting the "47.188..." because of the 149 on the end. I'm on the hunt for regular expression resources. Any ideas? Also, there is another, more complex field that I will need to parse next (at least I know I'll need speed), can this be done with the same methodology? 7/9/2017 3:49:48 PM
Lat/Lng: 47.188017, -67.930117
Speed: 0.0 kph
Altitude: 149.0 m
Heading: 0°
Thanks, Heather

Hi Alex, I've been trying to follow your instructions to parse through kml data using the out of the box XML input connector. However, I'm having trouble getting the field mapper to work. Regardless of what I put in the field mapper (or field reducer) the output I get via TCP or CSV looks the same. Any ideas? Is there a better way to manage a KML input? Thanks, Heather

I have a "Poll an External Website for XML" input connector configured in GeoEvent manager and I have set the following parameters apiKey=**lksjdfs&startDate=2017-05-31T10:00:00&endDate=2017-05-31T18:00:00 Does anyone know a way that I can set dynamic dates as part of parameters like this? Ideally I would have it poll the last 15-30 minutes (or something like that) instead of a hard-coded date range. I've learned form the vendor of this data that no more than 1000 records will be returned and that the maximum window size is 8 hours. Any advice would be appreciated!

Wlad Rozkow Comments on #2. My understanding is the best practice is to have GeoEvent isolated on a server and it requires an installation of ArcGIS for Server.

Our issue is similar except that we are accessing all content via ArcGIS Online. I can open the map configured for offline use without any issues but when I try to download it, it progresses about halfway then I get an untrusted server certificate error for https://tiles.arcgis.com/tiles... (service specific URL). The base URL works correctly and I can see the SHA256 certificate on my corporate laptop but it is still causing issues during download on the device. Is there another URL or check that Collector is trying to do as part of the download process that I need to make sure is allowed in my organization? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a similar question! I would like to use GeoEvent Processor (srvr A) to monitor data being captured via Collector Apps synching with a hosted Data Store (srvr B) federated with Portal (srvr C). The documentation is unclear on how this should be configured.

We have Portal 10.4.1 setup inside our network and we are using a VPN tunnel to provide access to content from an external internet connection or cellular network. On iOS this works great, users authenticate against our ADFS server and maps load that are configured for the applicable groups. However, when I switch over to an Android device we are having a different experience. The authentication happens quickly and consistently but the map list takes 2 minutes to load (I've timed this). Even more strange, when I make a connection to the same portal from the same device this time using Explorer there is no long delay. Has anyone else experienced this? We are having a hard time troubleshooting this issue and with load times this long the solution isn't fit for rollout to our users. Thanks! Here are a few things we have explored already: confirm all the content in the maps being populated in the list are using internal data (no calls back out to AGOL) reduce the number of groups and maps that need to load (we are just using 1) confirm that outside the VPN tunnel (on the network) the list loads quickly as expected

We use ArcGIS Online Assistant today to promote web apps and maps from test service links to production and it works great. We have recently setup a Portal for ArcGIS that uses ADFS authentication and we'd love to keep using this useful tool. Are there any plans to enable this type of authentication in the future (all I see today is PKI and IWA)? Thanks!

Are there specific role privileges in ArcGIS Online that the connecting user must have for this to work? Also, if our organization chooses to switch off built-in user accounts accessing AGOL in favour of an enterprise solution like ADFS will built-in user credentials still be valid in the GeoEvent Manager? Thanks! Heather

We are configuring Portal for ArcGIS 10.4.1 and we leaning towards SAML and ADFS as our authentication solution. One question has come up as we work through testing: Can we use AD groups to manage Portal groups as part of this solution? For example, we want to create groups in Portal and instead of adding individuals to those groups we instead want to add an AD group using the From an Enterprise Group at the bottom of the group creation page: A few other factors need to be true for this to be a viable solution for us: must work on mobile devices (iOS and Android) must work in Windows (browser, ArcMap, and ArcGIS Pro) group membership must be updated regularly by checking with the AD group membership (I believe I read somewhere that it defaults to daily and also each time the user logs in) Is anyone using this combination of solutions today? Has anyone tried is and run into issues? Any advice would be great! Thanks, Heather
