Hi Kristen, If possible, can you please provide your XLSForm so that we can investigate? If you would prefer to share it privately, please let me know and I will send you a private message through GeoNet or send you an email. Thank you, Brandon

Hi Adam Daily, After taking a look at your XLSForm, it appears that you are using 'pulldata' to reference an external CSV. As you did not provide either CSV referenced within your form, I removed the calculations referencing them, and refreshed the form. After doing so, the Schema Preview returned. I was then able to re-enter them and refresh, which continued displaying the Schema Preview. Are you aware of any actions that you implemented in regards to referencing the external content that may have affected the functionality? Can you please try to remove the calculations referencing your external content, refresh the form, and see your results? In addition, please try to re-enter the calculations and let us know your results. Thank you, Brandon

What does the initial dialogue look like when you attempt to publish from Survey123 Connect? As a test, can you please try to simply republish the survey using Survey123 Connect without making any schema changes? This will tell us whether the issue is related to your proposed changes, or just the republishing at large.

Hi Josh, It is possible that you are encountering an issue with updating the schema of a survey using Survey123 Connect that was originally created via the web. This issue is under investigation, and we are planning for a fix in a future release. As a workaround, you can try to manually delete the feature service view by going to the survey directory in ArcGIS.com. Make sure that you only delete the view and not the feature service. Please let us know your results after doing so. Brandon

Speaking to your past problems, it is expected that you would not be able to change the field type of an existing field if there is data within it. This is a property/limitation for all ArcGIS databases... Modifying field properties. In this case, you will need to overwrite the service, or add a new field with desired field type and use ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Desktop in order to transfer the data (i.e. calculate field). In regards to your current roadblock, it would be helpful if you could share any error messages that you are encountering when attempting to publish. Can you please verify that the survey that you are attempting to update was originally created in Survey123 Connect? Which version?

Hi Josh, As of Survey123 Connect version 2.5.44, the ability to add new fields to a survey no longer requires the feature service to be re-created in most cases. I am wondering if you are at the latest version? Another option would be to use the Survey123 web creator in order to create/update your surveys. By doing this, you will always have the ability to add/remove/alter questions without limitation using the 'Design' feature within the Survey123 website. Keep in mind, some functionality does differ between Survey123 Connect and the Survey123 web creator... What are some of the other updates that have required you to overwrite your feature service using Survey123 Connect? Taking a look at the Submission URL property may also be of interest to you.

You can use the method documented within the linked web page below in order to filter the records within a feature layer by date. Filter by data - AGOL Other options include creating a hosted feature layer view for the supervisors, or using the Inbox functionality within the Survey123 field app in order to allow them to update/edit the exiting records within the field app itself.

Hi Peter, If you are you referring to the 'Data' tab within the Survey123 website, you will find a 'Filter by Submitted Date' option in the top left corner. From here you will find the following options... Please provide more details if this is not where you or others will be viewing the collected data.

My first recommendation would be to upgrade to the latest released version of Survey123 Connect, which is 2.5.44. In the case where the person attempting to submit the survey encountered the error, provided in the attached screenshot above, was it resolved after modifying the field lengths within the XLSForm and republishing? In order to further troubleshoot both errors, it would be helpful if you could collect a log and provide it by uploading to this thread. Survey123 field app log Survey123 Connect log

Hi Kara, Can you please let us know which version of Survey123 Connect you are using? When you mentioned that you attempted to change the field type and field length, were you increasing the field length to a value that was greater than the value initially set when publishing?

Hi Joe, The behavior that you mentioned has been targeted for improvement with the next release of Survey123 for ArcGIS. If you would like to test it out prior to the official release, I would recommend joining the Early Adopter Community for Survey123 and testing out the upgraded Android Photo Gallery functionality. In addition, you can take a look at the past GeoNet forum thread where others were encountering this issue. Regards, Brandon

Hi Erick, In short, you should be able to use the steps listed in the 'Editing Repeats' link provided in my previous response in order to enable editing using the Inbox. If your survey contains an image question that is within a repeat (as you depicted above) then you should be able to select the '+' icon in order to add another record. With this record, you should find the ability to add an image. Please let me know if you are not finding the same when using this workflow.
