Davidepaviaarcgis, fprallyesrifrance-fr-esridist, and others: do you know if any alternatives have been made available by Esri or others since this thread started? I am hoping to run this on a more recent Windows OS and more recent version of ArcMap. Thank you.

We are using a two-factor authentication technology called DUO (The Trusted Access Company: Duo Security ) for connections to our Enterprise Geodatabase (Oracle). Because ArcGIS Pro is a multi-threaded application it creates very many database connections when you use it. For me this means that my DUO app on my phone asks me to verify my identity once for every new database connection. It is basically unusable due to this. I spend more time authenticating than actually using the software. What do other folks who are required to use mutli-factor database authentication do? Do you have any suggestions for what we could do so our users don't have to authenticate 6+ times for doing simple tasks in ArcPro?

I want to be able to report on how all feature services in my ArcGIS Online instance are shared (i.e. which groups they are shared with). But getting started on this I am running into confusing results, like even just a simple search like this fs = gis.content.search(query="*",item_type="Feature Service", max_items = 1000) returns seemingly random feature service items that are not even owned by users in my ArcGIS Online instance. Why is that? How would you go about reporting on how all feature services in your org. are shared?

Many users assume that the locate button will center and zoom the map to their location. Currently the locate button only centers the map (scale level is not affected). Please allow for an (optional) configurable parameter that lets the author specify a zoom level to which the locate button should zoom the map. Thanks! (Any pointers as to where to change that in my own copy of the code much appreciated, too.) Story Maps

The attached document shows screenshots and URL's to reproduce the problem. When in mobile view my app loads incorrectly. The order of tabs is wrong, no symbols are shown, and no feature detail info can be retrieved. This is with Esri's hosted code (not self hosted), passing in my appid. It doesn't happen with Esri's demo app (url also in attached document), so I'm thinking maybe it is because my story has more features, or because my ArcGIS Server service responds too slow? Mark Cooney Owen Evans , can you help (again)? Thanks!

Hi Mark, the odd thing is that when I only retain the production minified code with my alterations the app breaks because it then (as soon as I make my alterations) makes calls for the source code files...which of course aren't there unless I put them there. I'm not sure why that is. But your suggestion led me to look in the right place and make my alterations in the source code files. My immediate problem is solved, thank you so much!!

Thank you for your reply Owen. I double-checked and everything is https, both in my storymap as well as in the webpage I am embedding it in. How can I modify the template code so it disregards the second requirement ("...the story is not embedded.")?

I am required to embedd a storymap that has a locate button. By default storymaps do not show the locate button when embedded in another page (via an <iframe> element). I am working with the Shortlist template . I am self-hosting the code. Where in the code could I change the logic so that it allows me to add the locate button when it is embedded in another page? In a previous version of this template I could change the js code (viewer-min.js) where it checks for the condition window.top !== window.self but in the latest version (2.3.2) this same change does not lead to the location button being displayed in an <iframe> element any longer. I am not sure why. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks.

Answering my own question in case somebody else is looking for it. Per Esri documentation, add this to the mobileLayout property (in file config.json): { "position": { "left": 285, "top": 45 } },

Hi Robert, When I add an extra widget that way it I am running into a layout issue: if the height/width ratio of the browser is approximately that of a mobile device the additional widget floats to the lower right corner. You can try this example webapp. I searched through the code and have trouble finding the cause of this behavior. Do you know why it behaves that way? Do you have suggestions which js/css files to look into? Many thanks, Tobias

Since editing survey forms with repeats is currently not supported is there a way to disable that functionality so users don't run into this error? Thanks.

We have been trying to get to the bottom of this error message for quite some time without much success. I'm wondering whether anybody else has any insights or ideas from troubleshooting this message in a similar environment. Oracle 12c, ArcSDE Geodatabase version 10.3 ArcGIS Server 10.3 and/or 10.4 (single server site) We see it on most or all services when they need to spin up a new instance. Hardware resources are not likely the culprit. What makes it difficult to troubleshoot is that I can't reproduce the error very consistently. We're looking at a lot of variables but so far without too much consistent success.

We recently encountered the issue that the checkbox that states "Geodatabase is accepting connections" (in Database Properties --> Connections tab) was found to be unchecked and the Geodatabase indeed did not allow any new connections. Once discovered it was an easy fix, we just connected as SDE user an checked the box. The question is how did it get unchecked? We can narrow down the time window to when it must have become unchecked based when scheduled tasks started to fail, and can use Oracle audit to verify that no connection as SDE was made during that time window. Has anyone experienced this before? What factors could trigger it? Is this a known bug? DB: Oracle 12c GDB: 10.3
