Hi Justin, I actually meant for the hosted CSV to be hosted externally to ArcGIS online wherever is convenient for your set up. You can point the web map to this CSV and the map tour will update its content each time it is loaded based on the content of your CSV. Mark

Justin, You could use an external (web) hosted csv, or a feature service, to drive your Map Tour. You could update these sources as needed, and when the Map Tour is loaded, any changes would be reflected in the places that are loaded. For the external csv option, in the ArcGIS Online map viewer, choose the 'Add' button, then 'Add layer from web', then choose csv to point to your hosted csv. Mark

Hi Geoff, You cannot add it directly in the builder, but Shortlist will respect valid audio HTML coming from existing data. You can do this by building out something like a csv file or a feature service and creating a web map from that data, then building a Shortlist app from that web map. Here is some additional info on that workflow: http://storymaps.arcgis.com/en/faq/#question49 Mark

Hi David, Make sure to check that your HTML is valid. You need a space between audio and controls, source and src, and closing tags. Here is an example that works. https://arcg.is/0PuOaG Mark

Hi Amanda, You will run into this scenario if you have an organization account and choose the upload images option in the builder. This is because the Map Tour will be driven by the created Feature Layer (so same restrictions will apply as linked above) from that option. If the Map Tour is created from images hosted on Flickr, Google images, or self hosted urls, the restrictions will not apply. Mark

Simon, It will create a graphics layer (which in the case of an external csv, is driven by a Feature Layer created by the JS API). Here is an example of an external csv that properly displays a link using the tel protocol (in the description of the first location). https://arcg.is/qH9Lj

Hi Amanda, Sorry for the confusion, but if you check the supported HTML in the second link I posted, that is what applies to Feature Services (Feature services and client applications—Documentation | ArcGIS Enterprise). It is a limitation of Feature Services, and therefore Map Tours that utilize Feature Services. Map Tours can also be built from scratch from the Map Tour builder, existing web maps, and external sources such as csv files, and those will support the tel protocol. Mark

Hi Amanda, Unfortunately with using Feature Services to drive the Map Tour, there are some higher level restrictions that the app does not have any control of. Hi Amanda, The Map Tour app does indeed support the tel protocol with anchor tags. Do you have a link to the app where you are having issues that you could share so we could have a look? Mark

This is the url referenced in the web map: http://services1.arcgis.com/NTWWSjEn5J53Yoh1/arcgis/rest/services/Tree_of_the_Year/FeatureServer/0/1/attachments/1. And this is it with https: https://services1.arcgis.com/NTWWSjEn5J53Yoh1/arcgis/rest/services/Tree_of_the_Year/FeatureServer/0/1/attachments/1 You will need to update the Feature Service that the layer is pointing to: https://services1.arcgis.com/NTWWSjEn5J53Yoh1/ArcGIS/rest/services/Tree_of_the_Year/FeatureServer/0

The URLs for the images are using http and the server they are on require https. The easiest way to fix this would be to create a new map tour from your existing web map, but that will create a new app, and therefore a new app URL. That may not be ideal if you think people will be trying to access the older URL. Another option would be to use AGO-Assistant to update all of the URLs to use https.

Make sure you are working with the source code and not the minified code. When you are done with your customizations, be sure to use the build to produce the minified/production code (GitHub - Esri/storymap-shortlist: The Shortlist story map application template by Esri )
