There is no option for disabling the up-down control, @ShannonPugh but it sounds like a good idea that you can put up on the ArcGIS Pro Ideas site: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/idb-p/arcgis-pro-ideas

@AlvisDou For support, this link may help https://www.esrichina.hk/en-hk/technical-support/support-services A tip for using the streaming tool with reshape would be to turn off snapping, since as you pass over the edge of another feature snapping occurs along the edge and that may introduce unwanted geometry changes. Another tip would be to control the streaming options (right click on the map which streaming to access the options - or hit O key) from there, set the tolerance to a value that makes sense for the data being collected. Perhaps with those tips you won't experience the issue you described here.

@AlvisDou Have you contacted Esri Technical Support? Sometimes it's easier to share your workflow and data with them. Based on the description so far, I can't reproduce the issue you are seeing. The most helpful information would be.. info about the coordinate system of the data being edited and the coordinate system of the map when editing (if they differ) Screenshots and/or a video version of the software.

My best guess: there is a geometry problem with the particular line (see https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/2.8/tool-reference/data-management/checking-and-repairing-geometries.htm)

@LukeGilner1 Thanks for following up. I made the team responsible for this area of the software aware of the newly logged defect as well.

@LukeGilner1 I can reproduce that behavior so thanks for reporting it. This will be fixed in a future release of ArcGIS Pro.

@LukeGilner1 Thanks for the feedback. I assume you mean you are pasting from one layer to another and the source layer has some fields that are marked as non editable but you want to preserve those attributes in the target layer, which has the same attributes that are marked as editable. Is that correct or is the scenario different in some way?

@LukeGilner1 the problem that @BrandonVan_Horn reported in this thread was fixed in 2.8 (also patched in 2.7 for 2.7.2). It sounds like there is something else going on in your scenario. It's hard to tell without more information. FYI Esri Support is the best place to report and track bugs - especially when issues are highly data (schema) and workflow specific.

@LukeGilner1 If the split policy somehow changed on your hosted feature service without any intervention, that sounds like a bug. However, perhaps something changed on the client side (upgrading ArcGIS Pro)? My suggestion would be to work with Esri Technical Support to find a resolution. If you need the policy to be changed to duplicate, perhaps there is a way to do it using REST calls. The other option would be to download the data, change the split policy to what you need, and republish or overwrite the service. -Scott

After re-reading, it doesn't seem to be the same behavior, but it's hard to know without data and exact steps (or video) to know for sure. Again, I recommend working with Esri Technical Support for further investigation.

@JordanFuhrmann If you can clarify the goal a bit more, perhaps there is existing functionality that will do what you need? Just going by the information you've provided, here are some suggestions: Create Points Along Line and Offset are Editing tools that can create points along a line but they also do not write out a distance attribute for the point. What they will do is store interpolated measure values on m-enabled points if the source line also has its m-values populated. There are few ways to populate m-values on m-enabled lines. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/edit-vertex-m-values.htm https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/editing/create-a-route-from-line-features.htm If the goal is just to display distance values on a line, perhaps you don't even need the points and you can just use measured hatch symbols to get the desired result. If the goal is something else completely, feel free to fill in the blanks 🙂 -Scott

@StaffanFridhKhamn Create a 2 point line and set the start and end z values as needed, then use Edit Vertices to add vertices while snapping along the line. The new vertices will have interpolated Z values based on the elevation of the start and end vertex: Does that help? -Scott
