Hello Joshua Young Im my experience, this issue usually occurs when the Portal Resources were not upgraded after Maps for Office was upgraded. This should not negatively impact performance, but I would start by ensuring that you have the latest version to resolve this error. Jon

Kyle Erisman Hello Kyle, Two things for you to try: Try deleting the Hosted Feature Layer record in ArcGIS Online, does this work? Does this behavior occur in a freshly published map and hosted feature layer? Something else to look into is to see if there have been any modifications to the HFL since its creation. Please let me know where this leads you. Jon

Lindsey Brighton Thank you for reaching out! I will preface my answer by saying that every organization agreement is different at Esri. On the surface level, yes the license costs $60 per this link, but depending on your agreement with us that may be different. After some digging, it appears that there is no trial version available for the add on license. Since the PowerBI Standard offering comes with the majority of the function of the premium app, it is viewed as the "trial" if you will. The add on license removes some of the limits for geocoding, and it allows you to add data from your ArcGIS Online organization. That being said, I would encourage for you to reach out to one of our Customer Service Staff who will be able to break down the details of the add on license. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Sure thing Ori, Please read through the links below to get more information: ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Server What is ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Server ArcGIS Spatiotemporal big Data Store 2019 Dev Summit record of GeoAnalytics Quick aside, when deploying the STBDS, it is imperative that you deploy it with an odd number of nodes, should you decide to deploy it on multiple machines. Lastly, if you working with big data feeds, you may be interested in learning about Analytics for IoT. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Good morning mucahit timar, Please find your answers below: It depends on a few factors… ArcGIS Online: If the user has the Viewer role and the ArcGIS Add On license, then they should be able to utilize the visual in PowerBI ArcGIS Enterprise: If ArcGIS Enterprise is internally deployed at and you are working with PowerBI Desktop inside the firewall, you should be able to connect and consume its resources. However if you publish the workbook to PowerBI Online the visual will no longer work. External ArcGIS Enterprise will work with PowerBI Desktop and PowerBI Online. A reference layer will be freshly loaded every time the visual is updated (like when opening a report). Once loaded, ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI will not update the layer if it is being changed by an arcade script or fed by GeoEvent. Scott Ball addressed this in an excellent post found here: FAQ – Data Security in ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI. In this post we find this question: Q: There are data going to and from the ArcGIS site. I am assuming this is just address data for mapping purposes only. The question is what data is sent between Power BI and ArcGIS? And is this data being stored by ArcGIS? A: Correct, only the data needed to geocode the address (ie, fields placed in the Location field well) are passed to Esri servers. These data are only used to generate the information used to place the locations on the map and they are not stored by Esri servers. To our knowledge, no data is sent to Microsoft, but you should be able to find more info here: Interact with ArcGIS maps in Power BI At this point in time, there are no listed ways of pulling tabular data from REST into PowerBI Desktop or Online. However, there is an enhancement in the works to address this: ENH-000131441: Develop a way to import ArcGIS REST based services and tables into PowerBI. In order to improve the strength of this enhancement, feel free to log a case in order for me to attach your account to it. I hope this helps!

Hello @Michael_Ori In my experience stress testing the software, I have been unable to load more than 50,000 points at one time. The visual will break around that point and will be unable to load more features. Interestingly enough if you reload the visual ArcGIS for PowerBI will load a different set every time. Speaking to some of my colleagues, it appears that it is outside of PowerBI's scope to handle large datasets. For that, we recommend using GeoAnalytics with Spatiotemopral Big Datastore to ensure data fidelity.

Good afternoon Britney Markhardt, PowerBI Is typically used with point data at this time. However, you are able to include a reference layer from ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise, so long as those organizations meet the necessary requirements. What this means for you is that if you have a PowerBI based dataset that you would like to enhance with an ArcGIS Online line feature, you should be able to do so. For more information on reference layers, please see this document. Please let me know if you have any other questions

The status of these defects lead me to believe that there is something in motion to address these issues. Unfortunate, I cannot speak for the Product Team so can't offer anything more than that.

Hello there! Could you expand on what you mean by "editing the thickness of the donut?" Do you mean making the shape itself larger, or making the categories appear larger? Additionally, the labels are based off of the column names in your base data. I will investigate to see if changing them is possible and report back.

Hello David, There are two known issues with ArcGIS Maps for PowerBI on desktop being unable to store custom symbology: BUG-000129922 : ArcGIS for PowerBI custom symbology changes back to default color ramp after an external filter is applied. BUG-000123575 : ArcGIS Maps for Power BI fails to retain the custom symbology after exiting the application These are most likely related to an overarching issue. If you are able to log a support case with us, I would strongly urge you to do so. That way we can confirm that this is the problem you are running into at which point we can add you to the defects.

Hey Michael, For PowerBI Desktop, you should be able to download the latest version here. Alternatively if you open PowerBI Desktop, it should prompt you to update. PowerBI Online should update on its own.
