Regarding the display of the map (not the error preventing report generation, which it looks like you solved) - the last survey123 update changed the way features render in your map geoshape and geotrace features (areas and lines) used to display in your map according to the visualization settings you had applied in the feature layer. This changed in the last update to a generic symbology display as the default. Theres a flag you can add to your {geoshape} call in the feature report to respect the symbology as set in your referenced map that you're calling by item ID. sorry I don't have that handy for you right now, but its in the last survey123 blog post (within the last month). Add that flag in your feature report and your polygons will use the same symbology you have set in the map being called by itemID.

Good Morning, We use survey123 for a handful of different field tasks, most of which revolve around construction. All of the surveys and report templates include a repeat that allows users to collect photos and locations, eventually printing them out in the automated report that includes a reference map. Often times, the basemap (OpenStreetMap or ESRI Imagery) does not give much context before we're working in a rural area and the imagery does not show recent site changes or construction. Because of this, I like to include parcels/taxlots to help give context and a little more detail to reference. We always want to show the current status of the frequently-changing taxlots, so I am normally using the hosted & maintained taxlot layers from the county or state GIS departments. These are very often unavailable at various times throughout the week while changes are being pushed online. When this happens, the entire report generation fails. It's happened often enough that I've just removed the taxlots from all of the basemaps because it's difficult to resolve when I'm in the field or on a road trip. tl;dr - It would be great if unavailable layers in the basemap that's being called in the feature report template would be excluded from the maps rendered in the report, instead of causing the entire report generation to fail. (Some form of a notification would be great as well.....maybe an esriWarning that could prompt a trigger in integromat?). Some of the examples below show how different layers are used in the report's basemap. I'm including a few at lower zoom levels to give an idea of how many taxlots would be included in these if I hadn't removed them from the report template. In those cases, map rendering would fail even if there wasn't an issue with the data source itself.

Hey Benjamin, I'm not sure if you saw this month's blog/release notes, but the "recalculate" URL parameter was added. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-blog/whats-new-in-arcgis-survey123-september-2021/ba-p/1099421 A new URL parameter lets you force the recalculation of a question when the form is opened in edit mode in the Survey123 web app.

Really enjoying 3.13 release so far. The recalculate URL parameter and external CSV were great for quickly updating a bunch of features. Now that it's done, I'm wondering if there's a way to implement it that would basically be equivalent to Recalculate if empty, else use entered values? Project info is enriched with an external CSV. The CSV is normally limited to active projects, but the one I just used was 5 years worth of projects to fill all of the info on from old UAS flights. Now I'm trying to figure out how to auto-fill these values on new projects with empty fields (without having to click recalculate on 15 fields), but hold the existing values otherwise (because the next CSV update will be back to active-only projects and would end up removing all those attributes for inactive projects that are edited). Is there a simple way to address this that I'm overlooking or should I try for a couple workaround ideas?

Let me know if you're not able to get anywhere with the links above. I probably wouldn't be able to do this until the 2nd week of Oct, but I could copy my integromat blueprint out and remove all of the confidential info and send it to you if needed.

Honestly, it took a ton of trial and error for me to get this working and it was my first and only experience with trying to push updates back to a feature layer like this. I used "Postman" to test the URL string that I was using (also, a lot of trial and error). I'd definitely recommend you install that and use it to test out your request before bringing it into Integromat. I couldn't get it to work when I was adding to the query string, so I just used the entire URL (including the query parameters) in the "URL" entry box on Integromat. This is the page you're going to want to reference - https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/enterprise/update-features.htm And then use Postman to start working on replacing the example parameters with yours - https://www.postman.com/downloads/ You can also download a collection of ArcGIS REST queries from here (the one to generate a token was very handy for testing, but not used in Integromat because the Survey123 submission in my scenario generates a token as well) - https://github.com/esri-es/ArcGIS-REST-API

I think it uses your organization default if you don't set it in the feature report template. Save a web map with the display you want in the report, then copy the Item ID from the URL and add it to your ${location} field in the feature report template. Make sure to share it with your other coworkers that are using the same report template, or just share it with "everyone". Ex: ${geopoint | mapSettings:" b2519fd7a45647a0946f50b0535b6ddd ":6000| size:225:250:0:0}

You can do this with integromat. I have a scenario for "UAS Flight Logs" that updates a pilot's cumulative total flight hours on submission.

We're having the exact same problem as @erica_poisson since the last update. Surveys with a lot of photos in the repeat are sending all of the phones, then giving a send error right after.

@IsmaelChivite - Would you mind sharing what this parameter is? I couldn't find it in the XLS reference A new URL parameter lets you force the recalculation of a question when the form is opened in edit mode in the Survey123 web app. edit: Ahhh, found it : recalculate=field:question1,field:question2 Integrate with other apps—ArcGIS Survey123 | Documentation

Hey Andrew, I found a workaround to this by using the EMBED element with a text-to-speech API. Most recent feature (survey123 submission) passes along project name and project number attributes to a URL parameter for a text-to-speech API, and I just have it hidden in the background.

I do not believe it's possible exactly as you described. Pre-filling the form is done by a constructed URL with parameters, which can't be done when drawing from more than 1 feature layer. You could accomplish the 'place I would first visit' (IE: One place) by enriching your "district" dataset with another field that contains the "region" name (instead of trying to pull the respective values out of 2 different layers). I cannot think of a way to let people pick a second place, though. Here's one that I have embedded in a dashboard, with the "UAS Mapping (Completed)" list on the left being used to pre-fill some of the fields in the "Add New" S123 form (Could accomplish the same thing with pop-ups in that feature layer to launch in a new tab) And here is how it's set up in the dashboard (highlighting that it's only drawing from one feature layer) I suppose you might be able to accomplish drawing from more than one layer using the arcade expression functionality that's in there now, but I haven't ever tried.

I'm having the same issue and I've heard from two others in the Spatial Community that are seeing it in their reports as well. Looks like it started on 9/18.

Looking forward to this update, especially CSV support in web forms and the python sharing repository (I'm already using the search() appearance with the beta app, which is working wonderfully). Any chance we'll see support for hyperlinks in the feature report anytime soon? I'm just printing it out as a full URL right now, but would be great to just have a normal "Navigate to Point" blue-text hyperlink displayed instead.
