You're correct @JoshuaBixby ! I think I got tripped up initially by user error - I would have had that column highlighted, so when I took a quick look, it appeared that Null values were selected. They were not. Thank you for the reality check! KoryKramer_0-1667339791337.png And as you and Randy have both pointed out, this is all working as expected since = and <> don't work with NULL values. @Jon-PaulMcCool see https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/navigation/sql-reference-for-elements-used-in-query-expressions.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_8F11C98011474CF58AFE221CD1790A5F I'm not sure where that leaves us with this idea - I can double-check with our development team, but we'll likely need to Close it as a known limit since I don't think we should modify standard SQL behavior when is comes to querying data.

Thanks for the input @RandyCasey and @JoshuaBixby ! I may have misunderstood the original description, but my understanding was that @Jon-PaulMcCool has a query such as FIRE_NAME <> 'ZWINGE' and null values are not being selected. I do not see that behavior so we'll need some clarifying details around the problem being reported. Thanks, everyone.

Can you share the query you're using, both a screenshot of the query in the builder like I showed above as well as the resulting SQL?; e.g. KoryKramer_0-1667326048004.png

Hi @Jon-PaulMcCool and @CynthiaGeskes What version of ArcGIS Pro are you using where you are seeing this behavior? I just tried on a dev version and when I query Fire_Name is not equal to ZWINGE, I get all records except ZWINGE selected, including blanks and Nulls. KoryKramer_0-1667325070199.png What you're seeing would be considered a bug rather than an idea, but we'll need to know your Pro version and it may be necessary to get the data and steps to reproduce in order to investigate.

We understand that this is an aged request but wanted to point out that this is what ArcGIS Pro does. In the example below, note that the domain contains a value of 17 - Volcanic. Even though that value is not present in the attribute table, when the CAUSE field is used to symbolize the layer, note that 17 - Volcanic is included as a symbol class. Domain as symbology.png

@Shauna-RaeBrown It looks like @RoseF has provided some guidance on this one. There is a Load Data command in the context menu for tables/feature classes in Catalog in Pro. As noted in the comments, this launches the Append tool where it is possible to apply a SQL query and also do field mapping. KoryKramer_0-1667237046812.png Does this allow you to load the data you need? Let us know after you've tried it. Thank you.

Please be sure to read Run ArcGIS Pro on a Mac which states "Mac systems configured with Apple Silicon (Mx), or non-Intel processors, are not compatible until Microsoft Windows OS environments are supported on Apple processors." KoryKramer_0-1666874129302.png So if you are looking to buy a new Mac and one of the requirements is to run ArcGIS Pro, it shouldn't have the M1/M2 chip.

Also, you could set the Esc key as an accelerator. That command that you want is esri_mapping_clearSelectionButton. KoryKramer_1-1666812272790.png Use that info to find the specific command and assign the Esc key: KoryKramer_0-1666812229382.png Then you should be able to hit Esc to clear all selected features in the map.

We'll be adding the clear selection button at the bottom of the map in Pro 3.1 (so that you don't have to travel to the ribbon, and possibly change to a different tab)... KoryKramer_0-1666807506689.png For the desire to have a way to clear a selection before exporting, please see this idea and add your support by giving it kudos: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/de-selection-before-exporting-your-layout/idi-p/1157299

This was addressed in ArcGIS Pro 2.9 by adding the record number to the row header. On the left is ArcGIS Pro. On the right is ArcMap. KoryKramer_0-1666731056444.png

@mTylerH This idea is closer to what you're looking for from your comment: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/copy-the-text-from-quot-source-quot-layer/idi-p/1115535 As for what the Copy Path button from the ribbon should actually provide when the focus is on a map layer, I will check with the team...
