Hi @Göran Are you working in ArcGIS Pro? The behavior you're describing sounds like ArcMap. Please clarify that. Pause Drawing in ArcGIS Pro is designed to do exactly what you describe, stop rendering and NOT gray out the map but display what had rendered when you clicked pause (even though not everybody likes the it as outlined in this idea). Thank you for the comment @LarsArneson This idea was asking to provide a dialog or prompt to save changes in design views (Fields View, Domains View, etc.) when closing. That will be delivered in ArcGIS Pro 3.1. Example: KoryKramer_0-1668106271774.png Adding a Save button (and other buttons) into the view itself as opposed to only having it on the ribbon would be a different request. @OliverHoehn and others on this thread who experience this, have you tried using Diagnostic Monitor to narrow down what is causing the delay? You mentioned loading a large dataset or service. If you run diagnostic monitor, look at the Log tab and sort on elapsed time to find the longest-running operations, is the delay in reading that data from a remote location?  I understand the idea is simply about adding more progressors when needed - but I thought we already had an 'Adding data...' progressor, so it will be helpful for anybody adding kudos or comments to this idea to work with Diagnostic Monitor and share specific examples of what is happening on your machine when you do not get a progressor. Closing this idea - as pointed out in the discussion, Equal to and Not equal to do not recognize Null values.  Also as pointed out in the comments, if such a query is needed it will need to explicitly include a clause to check for null values, such as fieldA != 'some value' or fieldA is null. ...
