Only Display These Scales - in ArcGIS Pro is an idea that has been reviewed on the site. There is an equivalent enhancement request [ENH-000103234: Add “Only display these scales when zooming” functionality to ArcGIS Pro] which is marked as In Product Plan. We can probably update the Idea's status to keep them in step. Unfortunately I don't have a timeline on when we'll see this but looks like we'll get it into a future Pro release. Thank you!

Simon, this is being reviewed by the development team for inclusion in Pro, but I'm not able to provide a very accurate timeline. The earliest we hope to see it included in Pro would be for the 2.2 release which would be mid-2018, but it could fall later than that. Sorry that it isn't great news, but I hope this helps answer your question that yes, the plan is to bring it into Pro...

Do you have Spatial Analyst? It sounds like a much more efficient workflow would be to classify lakes/ponds as such and convert to features: An overview of the Segmentation and Classification toolset—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Then show which are greater than 2 acres.

David Cakalic Here is a thought that was just shared with me - it will get you part way there and something to work with for now. ArcGIS Pro has an editing grid that is always available: Enable the editing grid—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop . You could turn that on and adjust the grid size to give you squares of a known area, which gives you a good, quick idea of areas when you're exploring your map.

Hi David, Since this original idea already has some votes, I don't want to mark it as a duplicate and send users to the new one logged recently Cursor Rings to Visualize Distance I do like the additional explanation provided in the new idea, and will copy it here: Idea: Simple tool to toggle rings around cursor. The radius/diameter of these rings could be managed through a dialog. As user zooms in/out in ArcMap... the apparent size of the ring would change to represent the distance set. (Zoom in ring "appears" larger... zoom out it appears smaller..) Reason(s): Sometimes while digitizing features from imagery we need to quickly visualize distances... for example is this river > 100' wide... or is this pond > 2 acres. Having these "template cursors" on would allow us to make that determination without ever needing a map scale or using the measure tools. Especially useful because when zooming in/out one can quickly lose a sense of scale. Further Ideas for Improvements to the tool: Multiple cursors at once. Possibly a Square cursor. Allow us to enter Area (sq feet or acres) Choice of colors/thickness/transparency for these tools. A quick toggle to flip these on/off as toolbar button or function key. Optional small label identifying what each radius represents. This one has been reviewed and I'll share it with the appropriate development team to see if it can be considered. I'll close the new idea as a duplicate of this one. Thank you!

It looks like this would be a good case for using the editing grid in ArcGIS Pro Enable the editing grid—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop If the sites need to be parallel to the road, enable the grid and rotate it so that it runs along the road. You could copy/paste a site and then snap to the grid. That should make the task a lot faster.

Hornbydd Earlier you mentioned Spyder. Also wondering if you currently use or have used PyCharm? Please let me know. The implementation of debugging will probably be different for ArcGIS Pro and I'm gathering info from users who debug scripts about what IDEs they're using. Thank you!

Hi Josh, like you mentioned, there is a workaround noted here: 20041: Neatlines are not supported and were dropped from the layout—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop which is to draw the neatline as a hollow rectangle. I'm not sure about that second listed workaround of converting the neatline to graphics in ArcMap. I don't see that as an option (when I have the neatline selected in the layout, Convert To Graphics is grayed out. Do you see the same thing? Anyway, we'll take this as feedback for layouts in Pro, but for trackability and to socialize this, I'd encourage you to submit the request on https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas?sr=search&searchId=d67bcd9b-cd8f-4ab6-8aeb-7c529dcf510c&searchIndex=0 Thank you!

Hamish Mills I think you're referring to the fact that in ArcMap we have the possibility of using the wizard when creating a new FC and in Pro we don't (yet), correct? ArcMap New Feature Class wizard: The wizard isn't available yet in Pro but is under design. I believe that the team working on that will be considering this design consideration that is a big request from the community: Alter Field Order during New FC or Table Creation Hope this info helps.

For the good of the thread, what we found with this particular case is that it has to do with having a map with many layers that point to very large data - think on the scale of about 20Gb. The reproducible case over here was: 1. Import the Business Analyst .mxd to ArcGIS Pro 2. Remove all BDS layers, retaining just the basemap. 3. Convert that map to a Basemap. 4. That custom basemap was set to be used as the basemap for all new maps added to the Project. 5. Now when a new map is added, Pro crashes. We have this in front of the development team and we're working on a fix. Just wanted to share the info out in case anybody else experiences something similar - maybe this will help.

valraa 1. Do the same rules apply to ArcGIS Pro extensions? Yes. 2. If I purchase (e.g.) three Spatial Analyst extensions, it means I have purchased both three ArcGIS Desktop Spatial Analyst AND three ArcGIS Pro for Spatial Analyst? Technically, yes, but you still only have three licenses, not six, which means 3 users of the extension, not 3 using it with ArcMAP and 3 others using it with ArcGIS Pro. 3. Are the purchased ArcGIS Pro extensions of 'named license' type by default? If you provision your ArcGIS Pro license as SU (or CU, if that’s the license type you have), you will need to do the same with the extension. You cannot mix license types. 4. Can I use expired ArcGIS Pro extensions with currently-on-maintenance ArcGIS Pro? If you have a perpetual license for an extension that you no longer pay maintenance, you would not be able to use it with ArcGIS Pro as Named User, but if you are able to convert it and use both ArcGIS Pro and the extension as SU, for example, the answer is yes. Also see this documentation: http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/get-started/licensing-arcgis-pro.htm “With a Named User license, an ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS member can sign in to ArcGIS Pro and use the application on any machine on which it is installed. The application runs with the license level and extensions specified by the ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS administrator. A member with a Named User license can run ArcGIS Pro on up to three machines simultaneously.”

Patrick Boyd With the Layout in focus, select both of those raster layers (Peak Ground Velocity and Peak Ground Acceleration). Right-click one of them > Properties. This should open the Format Legend Item pane. Mine is on one layer, yours should say [multiple items]. At this point, we see Value in the legend. Uncheck Headings in the Format Legend Item pane. Voila! I hope this helps!
