I'm glad you figured it out. 1. You need to save your edits: 2. If you don't, when you close the project, you get a message: 3. If you click No, your edits are not saved. Please consider marking one of the answers in this thread as correct. Thank you.

Hmm, above you said the feature appeared but the attribute table is empty. Now when a feature is drawn and saved, a record is populated in the attribute table. I'm assuming the feature hasn't disappeared. When the features do disappear, does the file geodatabase remain? You can see it in ArcGIS Pro, and if you go to it in Windows File Explorer, the folder.gdb is there? When you add features and save edits, and can see them in the attribute table, go to the geodatabase folder in Windows File Explorer and look at the contents. Maybe take some screenshots. Are features disappearing only when the Pro project is closed and opened? Are you running an antivirus software on your machine?

OK, so you're running ArcGIS Pro 2.1.3. 1. What operating system? (Windows 7, 10, etc.) 2. What is the data source? You mention creating a new feature class - so I'm assuming a file geodatabase or enterprise geodatabase. Can you confirm? If an enterprise geodatabase, can you provide the DBMS and version (SQL Server... Oracle... etc.). Since you were the once who created the new feature class, I guess you have write permission. 3. What happens if you draw one feature and save the edit, does it persist in the database? 4. You talk about changing the background color of the map. Can you confirm you're working in a Map and not a Layout? 5. The features disappear. So if you open the attribute table, are there records? Or is the table blank?

Andrew - this will require troubleshooting that will best be handled with technical support. There will be a lot of questions - what version of Pro, what is the data source (shapefile, file gdb, enterprise gdb, etc.), do you have write permission to the data source, etc. If you draw one feature and save the edit, does it persist in the database? We could try to do some of this through GeoNet, but I've found it is a pretty inefficient way to do this sort of troubleshooting.

Sean, what version of Pro are you in? The one thing from the description that I see is when I delete a layout element, the focus moves back to the Layout. Say I have 20 elements in the layout contents, and I delete the 15th element. Where would you want the focus to be? Remain on the new 15th element? The behavior of moving back up to the top of the layout mimics what happens in a Map. If I remove the last last from the map contents pane, the focus is not then on the new last layer, rather focus moves to the Map. Can you include screenshots of what your layout contents look like, for example for the two layouts that you're switching between? Thanks

Tim Minter I don't understand. When I export a feature class to a feature dataset, it is stored with the spatial reference of the feature dataset. Anything in that feature dataset must be given the fd's spatial reference. Just to be sure, I tried in Pro 2.1 and 2.2. Are you still seeing this happening (in Pro 2.1.2)? Can you provide specific steps and screenshots? Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that, Flo. Let us know what the outcome is with the Esri Austria case. We'll take a look at that behavior on our side as well. Cheers

It looks like the documentation has been updated. The current info is here Tools that are not available in ArcGIS Pro—Appendices | ArcGIS Desktop and in the update for ArcGIS Pro 2.2 I see this:

I tried this in ArcGIS Pro: I made most of my fields not visible. I left the Shape field which is needed to publish, along with the FacilityID field. And configured my pop-up to display the non-hidden field, along with two of the hidden fields Even though the fields are hidden in the table, the pop-up can still read them from the database and display them. Yet when I publish the layer with those fields hidden, they simply aren't included in the service so we can't get this same behavior which is what you're requesting for ArcGIS Online and Web AppBuilder, correct? So this seems like a valid idea, but I've removed the Desktop category for now.

You could Make Layer From Selected Features and drive the map series from that layer.

David Wright In the supported operating systems section ArcGIS Pro 2.1 system requirements—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop we show the latest update or service pack tested. Here is an example from ArcGIS Pro 2.1. (For Pro 2.2, the latest update tested is Version 1803 with May 8, 2018 update) Note that the page also says, "Prior and future updates or service packs on these operating systems are supported unless otherwise stated. The operating system version and updates must also be supported by the operating system provider." There is also the Supported Environment Policy. It seems that these should address your concern. Does that help?
