Hi Jerad, thank you for posting this. If you think that there is a bug in the software, the Ideas site is not where you want to be. You should contact technical support to work with an analyst, verify the bug and get it logged so that it can be fixed. Esri Support Home As you noted, there are a number of different combinations of settings to control what gets selected and identified. I played around with what I understand you to be describing and I don't see an issue. If you have steps with specific settings that lead to the issue, could you please respond with those here, along with either screenshots or a video? Thanks!

Hi Roland, I apologize that you're experiencing a crash in ArcGIS Pro. Dan is correct that normally if a crash is consistently reproducible, the best action is to report it to technical support so that they can gather the required details and report it as a bug. Report software errors—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop "If you can reproduce the serious application error by a definite series of steps, you should also contact Esri Support or your international distributor to report a bug." I'm not an expert in analyzing the dump files, but I ran this one and it doesn't have much content in it. Getting answers to Dan's questions above would be great, and again, if this is consistent, you could send us a project package that reproduces the crash when exporting the animation. Do you have XToolsPro installed on the machine that crashes? The reason I ask is that the error report points to a similar issue (but not in ArcGIS Pro) where XTools may have been in the mix. But this could be a red herring - we would still need the answers above, possibly a project package, and there are other things we can try to get a better crash dump. Will look for a response and we'll go from there. Thanks

Jerad White Thanks for submitting the idea. You might be interested in the detailed information provided by the development team in Add a Real Identify tool to the ArcGIS Pro's Inquiry Ribbon Area Look at the July 2nd comment - there's lots of good stuff in there. I realize that doesn't nullify this idea of having that functionality in Measure Features, but thought that the above info might be helpful. Also, you can already identify using a rectangle by holding Ctrl and dragging. Hover over the Explore tool to see what you can do with it:

Malcolm, I apologize that you're experiencing a crash in ArcGIS Pro. When the crash occurs, are you presented with the serious application error dialog? Please make sure you're submitting these with an email address and description of the issue. You can read more about how these are handled here: Report software errors—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop For now, would you mind sending me the offending toolbox so I can see if I can reproduce the crash? [email protected] Thanks!

I'm glad you've got things running, Fred. Did you have Pro installed directly on 😧 or was there a folder/path in which it was installed? Download and install—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Please let me know so that we can take a look at this behavior and determine if there is something that might be improved. Cheers

Hi Ed, Our team got this one figured out for Eleza, but whatever you're running into may still be unresolved? Can you take a screenshot of the version and file size of this dll: ArcGIS.Desktop.Docking.Wpf.dll ? If you left the default install location, it should be located in C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin Find it there, right-click > Properties and then click on the Details tab. Mine looks like this: 1. Please send a screenshot of yours. 2. Also, you had 2.1.x installed before upgrading. How did you upgrade? Did you use the auto-updater from within ArcGIS Pro, download and install from My Esri, other (Explain)? Thanks!

Thomas Colson This was not logged as a bug publicly but the Python team has an issue for this against ArcGIS Pro that they'll be working on during the next iteration. So yes, this is being treated as a bug (as all crashes are) and will be addressed. Thanks!

Hi Fred, Do you have a case number from technical support? Was the case logged with Esri in the United States or with a distributor? Earlier in the thread you said that you had a case that was closed, but now you're waiting to hear back. It would be really important for us to have a case number. When you look in the output location for the mmpk, is anything created in there? How does the output compare to the computer that worked? What if you try to just create a new file gdb in that output location? Are you able to (write permissions?) Thank you.

I realize this thread is old, but if you haven't tried importing your scenes to ArcGIS Pro, that might work well: Add maps and scenes to a project—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Labeling basics—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Then you might be interested in ArcGIS Pro Enable the Label Placement Properties in a Scene
