Michael: Have you "Cleared" your basemap from the AGX table-of-contents? >Home tab >Basemap >Clear Basemap If you have a "Basemap" in the table-of-contents, AGX will expect an internet connection to fulfill that requirement.

Jethro: Without ArcMap, try this? Download and install ArcGIS Explorer for Desktop (AGX) http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/explorer/download Bring the World Continents layer package into AGX The World Continents LPK will appear in the table-of-contents. Click on the polygon layer within the LPK; click on the ??Tools? tab on the AGX ribbon; choose the ??Spatial Query? button. Use one of the tools in the Spatial Query window, like ??Draw an Area on the Map?, to pick the countries you desire. At the ??Where? drop-down, choose ??Input shape intersects features?. Hit the ??Query? button. Hit the ??Add to Map? button. Your African countries should not appear in the TOC as map notes in a folder. Right-click on the folder and choose ??Share? then choose ??KML?. Export your country polygons as a KMZ file then add that file to your ArcGIS Online account and add the KMZ to your AGOL map.

Jethro: Do you have access to ArcMap? That website allows you to download a Layer Package of polygon data. You can open/Add the Layer Package in ArcMap and then export all or some of the data out as a shapefile if you desire. If you don't have access to ArcMap, then this is likely not the resource for you.

We have implemented ADFS as the identity provider for Enterprise Logins in ArcGIS Online for Organizations (AGOL). The ArcGIS Explorer Desktop 2500 (AGX) ???Sign-in??? does not recognize AGOL enterprise logins. Will the next version of AGX recognize AGOL enterprise logins?

John: In ArcMap for your map service, do you have the Data Frame "Full Extent" set to Current Visible Extent (see attached)? I have seen this issue if I use this setting.

**UPDATE** We got the Analysis results to appear in our ArcGIS Online map! From our IT Engineer: "It was our http proxy exception rule. I needed to expand the wild card rule. So instead of *.esri.com/* it was *.esri.com*"

Kevin: We have an ArcGIS Online subscription in which I have a map with a points shapefile in the table-of-contents. When outside of our corporate firewall, from the Perform Analysis tools I run a buffer analysis on the points and the results appear in the TOC just fine. When inside our corporate firewall, I run a buffer analysis on the points and the results do not appear in the TOC ?? I get an Error Message (see attached). Esri Tech Support suggested we add these URLs to our firewall exception list, but the issue persists. http://*.arcgis.com https://*.arcgis.com http://*.esri.com https://*.esri.com http://*.arcgisonline.com https://*.arcgisonline.com http://*.cloudfront.net https://*.cloudfront.net The issue is definitely on our end, likely the firewall. Are there any other firewall settings that you know of that may be causing this issue with ArcGIS Online? We are using a WatchGuard XTM525 firewall. Many thanks for your time, Joe

Bill: You are correct, attribute pop-ups do not work for map service layers with scale dependency set. I have brought this to Esri's attention for years at User Conferences and the NIM is the result of me working with Esri Tech Support. Yes, it persists in build 2500. For a work-around, I have enabled labeling of features at a large scale to display some attributes. This works fine if there are few attributes or you know which attributes are most important to view. I can report that this behavior is not seen in ArcGIS Online.
