We need an IDENTIFY tool, please. It is one of the most basic tools that defines a GIS. Users want to know the attributes associated with the geospatial features.

Reynald: I have not considered the Compatibility View Settings option. I thought that was for web pages that do not render properly. We are having functionality issues, however, I'll try anything at this point. Some of our "in App" issues were solved when we added these URLs to our firewall exceptions list: http://*.arcgis.com* https://*.arcgis.com* http://*.esri.com* https://*.esri.com* http://*.arcgisonline.com* https://*.arcgisonline.com* http://*.cloudfront.net* https://*.cloudfront.net* We have also spent time with >Internet Options >Security settings in the Local Intranet Zone and Trusted Sites Zone, but have found little joy as a result.

Heath: Thank you for your response. We will continue to test various IE settings. Regarding your migration to enterprise login with ADFS credentials, I have done it and this is how I migrated user items. Log into AGOL as the organizational Admin. Leave the users who have an "ArcGIS Account" in your organization. Invite your users into your organization with "Send invitations to enterprise logins" When your users are in as enterprise members, you will "Change Owner" of their map/data items from their old account to their new account. Click on the Gear at the end of the "old" user login and choose Manage Items. Click on the items in the user's Content area and choose the Change Owner option. *This could be labor intensive if you have many users who have many map/data items. Use the drop-down to find the new account for this user and click Move to transfer the items to the chosen location. You can now Delete the old user account.

Stuart: You are so well read regarding install and licensing topics! So the FlexNet Publisher License has changed a bit since ArcGIS 10.0 and now a modification to the service.txt file is no longer absolutely required. Hence, it is no longer included in ArcGIS 10.2 online instructions. Makes sense. Thank you for the clarification. I'm sure this will be helpful to future users who read through years worth of forum posts. Joe

License Manager 10.2 Online Help – Using the options file does not include all the steps that the License Manager 10 Online Help does. License Manager 10.2 Online Help is missing the steps regarding the modification of the service.txt file to include the location of the ARCGIS.opt file. License Manger 10 Online Help does not show the 64-bit version of the default location for the ARCGIS.opt file. Links to both online help pages are listed, below. License Manager 10 online help: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/install_guides/license_manager_guide/index.html#//00790000000z000000.htm License Manager 10.2 online help: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/install-guides/license-manager/10.2/index.html#//00790000000z000000 The complete instructions should read as such: To create and use an options file 1. Open Notepad or another text editor. 2. Create your options based on the control you require. See the individual topics for the syntax for the various options supported. 3. Save the file as ARCGIS.opt in the ArcGIS License Manager installation location. The default location is C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\License10.2\bin (32-bit machine) or C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\License10.2\bin (64-bit machine). 4. Open the service.txt file from the installation location in a text editor. 5. Add the path to the ARCGIS.opt file in the VENDOR line after ARCGIS. For example: VENDOR ARCGIS options="C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\License10.2\bin\ARCGIS.opt" 6. Launch ArcGIS License Server Administrator from Start > Programs > ArcGIS > License Manager > License Server Administrator. 7. Click Start/Stop License Service in the table of contents and click the Re-Read Licenses button to pick up the options file. To check whether the options have been applied, click Diagnostics and click View to view the debug log.

With which browser have you found the least number of issues when working in ArcGIS Online for Organizations? Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox? We have found IE 10 & 11 to be flakey. Difficulties with adding secure services to the ‘My Content’ area; initial login fails then works at the second or third attempt; line features with two end vertices in the editing environment, and more. Browser history/cache has been cleared with no change in behavior. With Chrome (latest version), these issues do not exist or rarely appear. We are also using SAML with ADFS for enterprise login to AGOL. When we enable enterprise Single Sign-On, Chrome does not recognize SSO and AGOL can, therefore, not be accessed via a Chrome browser. IE and Firefox (latest version) do recognize and work with SSO enabled. So, we would like to use IE as our enterprise browser to access AGOL, but it behaves poorly and unpredictably. The Chrome browser behaves better, but does not work when our enterprise Single Sign-On is enabled. We have little experience with Firefox, but it appears to behave well and respects SSO. Do you have any AGOL browser user experiences that you would like to share?

Arick: Yes you can set the color and use it in AGX. In ArcMap, Symbolize your shapefile by Category using an attribute field then right-click on the shapefile layer in the TOC and choose Save As Layer File. Now add that LYR file to your AGX map and you're good to go!

I am not sure if this helps, but, in ArcMap I created a square mile polygon shapefile that is located in northern North Dakota using state plane coordinate system. When I bring the shapefile into AGOL and use the measure tools as accurately as I can click with the mouse, I find that the north/south and east/west lengths measure accurately. And measuring the whole polygon reports accurate acreage for a square mile. So, as far as the measure tools in AGOL go, I am convinced that the measurements are reporting accurately without Web Mercator distortion. See attached shapefile.
