The last major, new build of ArcGIS Explorer Desktop (AGX) was February of 2013, two years ago. AGX 2500/2505 has been limping along now for way too long and continue to fall farther and farther behind with each new release of ArcGIS for Desktop and updates of ArcGIS Online. In its day, AGX was considered a wonderful desktop solution for end-users of GIS data and services. Today, it barely functions. At the 2014 Esri User Conference (seven months ago), a new product, Explorer for Windows Desktop or ArcGIS Viewer, whatever the name is today, was available for viewing (beta version) at an Esri Showcase island. It looked very promising. I think it is poor business for Esri to not be sharing with its multitude of users the plan for new AGX builds or a new AGX replacement application. There are many loyal and ardent users of AGX who have been left hanging for well over a year for an updated AGX product. Frankly, I feel disrespected. In the mean-time, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS for Desktop and Server, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Runtime SDKs, iOS and Android Apps, Community Maps, Open Data, etc., continue to be updated and upgraded, regularly and frequently. Esri – do you really have nothing to tell us about the next version of AGX? Is there no beta program for the next version of AGX? Are you even working on a new version of AGX? Should your users be looking for a Windows desktop alternative to AGX (Google Earth Pro just went to Free)? Your army of struggling AGX users have been patiently waiting for any hint of news regarding the future of AGX. Please tell us what’s going on.

Jayanta: Thank you for the response. My 10.3 LM already has ArcInfo authorization codes assigned to it. What I was wondering about was installing an earlier version of LM software (10.2) on the same server in order to user 10.2 authorization codes. Your response answered my question. LM 10.2 software CANNOT be installed on a server that already has LM 10.3 installed. Thank you, Joe

We have a new Windows server for our ArcGIS License Manager 10.3 software install. We also have some legacy ArcGIS for Desktop 10.2 concurrent use licenses that are not eligible for upgrade to 10.3. Can ArcGIS License Manager 10.2 software be installed on a server that already has ArcGIS License Manager 10.3 installed on it? Thank you

UPDATE: Following instructions from V Stuart Foote @ https://community.esri.com/message/314998#314998 I did a "clean uninstall" of ArcGIS 10.3 for Desktop and ArcGIS 10.3 for Desktop Background Geoprocessing (64-bit). I reinstalled ArcGIS 10.3 for Desktop and Background Geoprocessing and all now seems to be behaving as expected.

Is anyone else having any issues after installing or upgrading to ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3? Our staff are reporting issues with printing, exporting maps to PDF, ArcMap hanging for an inordinate amount of time, and using Copy/Paste during an edit session. Deleting the old "Normal.mxt" has not solved any of these issues. I am eager to hear if others are having any issues with ArcMap 10.3.

I've seen this multiple times in our shop. It seems to me that some map services other than the basemap, when added, somehow restricts zooming to the deepest level. And, as you note, the other map services have no zoom scale restrictions. A puzzler - I have not found a culprit. I have had my users remove the other map services from their table-of-contents, one at a time, to find the fix. That has worked on a few occasions. Otherwise, my users have had to start a new, clean map and re-add the map services - rebuild their map.

MrSID is already massively compressed. Converting MrSID to JPEG would result in much larger imagery files.

Here is my guidance document for our users. It shows AGOL maps titled by content and whether the maps appear in the iOS version of the Explorer app and the Collector app on an iPad. Hope this helps.

Tony: Besides the wonderful tools and functionality out-of-the-box in AGOL and the ease of use for our clients, this Esri article describes why we are big fans of AGOL. http://blogs.esri.com/esri/esri-insider/2014/12/19/creating-a-sustainable-gis/ I particularly like this statement in the article: "The old 80-20 rule was that if you had a COTS app that accomplished 80% of your workflow, you customized the other 20% to meet your workflow needs. The new 80-20 rule states that now you change the 20% of your workflow to meet the functionality of the COTS app, because even though it can cause a temporary disruption, doing so is much less costly in the long run than coding and maintaining the customization."

I see the behavior in AGOL that you are describing when I assign a Domain with Coded Values to an attribute field of a featureclass in a feature service.
