Thomas: For future readers of your posted question. From the great book Python Scripting for ArcGIS, by Paul Zandbergen, Chapter 4.14 - Working with Paths: There are three correct ways to specify a path in Python: Use a forward slash “C:/EsriPress/Python/Data” Use two backslashes “C:\\EsriPress\\Python\\Data” Use a string literal by placing the letter r before the string r“C:\EsriPress\Python\Data”

Do you need an r in front of your file paths? Like this: wells = r"C:\Users\tmc18\Desktop\comp_orps\NYS_Wells.gdb\Madison_DEC_Well.dbf"

Users can bring an ArcGIS for Server (AGS) feature service into their map. In edit mode, they can add, delete and modify features and attributes. What they cannot do is use: >Perform Analysis >Manage Data >Extract Data. In the View Item Details page for the AGS feature service, there are no settings for Export Data permissions like one finds for a Hosted Feature Service. Why is a feature service that is hosted from ArcGIS for Server treated differently than a Hosted Feature Service located in AGOL? The only work-around that I have found is for the end-user to use the “Derive New Locations” tool to create a “copy” of the features from the AGS feature service and then Extract Data from the copy.

When I upload a shapefile or file geodatabase into ArcGIS Online, I see two new files in My Content each with the same name, but different "Types". One is labeled Feature Layer and the other is labeled Shapefile or File Geodatabase depending on the file type uploaded. The Feature Layer is used in my map, but I don't know what the other file is used for. Can I delete the other item or is it necessary to have for the Feature Layer? Thank you.

From the "What's new in ArcGIS Online - December 2014" blog: Extract Data now supports attachments and you can verify the expressions when calculating a field. For more information see Extract Data. Extract your features that contain attachments to a file geodatabase. I've tried it with attached photos. It works.

I think you SDE can be 9.3, but your ArcGIS for Server needs to be 10.2.2. AGS 10.2.2 is the first version where "Sync" could be enabled for a Feature Service.

Ahmad: Bummer... Is your ArcGIS for Server licensed with the Image Server Extension? If it is, then try publishing/caching your mosaic dataset directly to an Image Service. If not, it appears that your area of imagery is not too huge, it may not take that long to re-cache your project. Good luck with your work.' Joe

Are you running a map service or an image service? I am running image services. Right-click on the image service in ArcCatalog, choose Manage Cache then Manage Tiles. In the Manage Map Server Cache Tiles window, note the Update Mode drop-down. One of the options is Recreate_Empty_Tiles.

I have successfully “Shared” (published) my ArcGIS Pro desktop map to my ArcGIS Online subscription as a “Web Map.” I made a change to the Pro map at my desktop and want to overwrite the map and data already in AGOL. When I try to overwrite, I get an Error Message that states: A web layer named “<name>” already exists. Please choose a different name that is unique with your organization. What is the suggested workflow to update an AGOL web map and data from my desktop (ArcGIS Pro) to AGOL? Must I log into AGOL and delete all existing map and data items in My Content every time I want to update my web map from my desktop? Am I jumping the gun with ArcGIS Pro “prerelease”? Will this be possible with December updates to Pro and AGOL?
