Michael: Watch this video. In the video, GeoJobe makes it sound like the Update Items Content URL tool will do exactly what I want. It doesn't. And it does not address the need for maiking changes to "secure" map services. Update Item Content URL in Admin Tools for ArcGIS℠ Online - YouTube

Michael: Thank you for the hint. I have tried GeoJobe's Admin Tools for ArcGIS Online for this task and it did not behave as I had hoped. See attached document showing my test.

We publish map services to an on-premise ArcGIS for Server (AGS). We then consume these UN/PW secure services in our ArcGIS Online (AGOL) subscription. We have over 120 of our map services connected into AGOL. We plan to change our AGS server setting from ‘HTTP Only’ to ‘HTTPS Only’ and change our AGOL setting to ‘HTTPS Only’. The URL for a secure map service within AGOL looks something like this: http://utility.arcgis.com/usrsvcs/servers/3c6c47a3d708e0b5/rest/services/Folder/ServiceName/MapServer This URL does not show our AGS source server URL. This URL cannot be modified in the ‘Edit’ page of the ‘Item Details’ page for this map service. How do I change the URL of a secure map service within AGOL from 'http' to 'https' and do I need to perform this task one-at-a-time or can I do it en masse? Thank you.

Jason and Daniel: Your thread helped me out tremendously with an ArcGIS Server problem we recently had. On Sunday, after bouncing our ArcGIS Server for Maintenance Weekend, we noticed that map services were not running. Our IT guy discovered that the F-drive (a mapped drive to our SAN and where the arcgisserver\config-store and the \arcgisserver\directories folders are located) was not being recognized and he started running the CheckDisk utility. Monday morning the CheckDisk utility had not finished, but IT bounced the server anyway. After the server restart, map services started up and worked, but we were then missing the System services, like PublishingTools, and the Utilities services, like Geometry service. Here’s what I did: Stop ArcGIS Server Service Remove C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Server\framework\etc\config-store-connection.xml Copy "F:\arcgisserver\config-store" to another safe site Delete all the files and folders under "F:\arcgisserver\config-store" Copy 'arcgisjobs''arcgisoutput' and 'arcgissystem' folders from F:\arcgisserver\directories to a safe place Delete 'arcgisjobs' 'arcgisoutput' and 'arcgissystem' folders from F:\arcgisserver\directories Start ArcGIS Server Service - no map services (ArcSOC.exe services) will start Open "ArcGIS Server Manager" (browser) "ArcGIS Server Setup Wizard" will open Click on >Create New Site UN: | PW: Root Server Directory = F:\arcgisserver\directories Confguration Store = F:\arcgisserver\config-store System and Utilities services are back, now I have to get the map services back Copy project folders from safe backup place to F:\arcgisserver\config-store\services Don't copy over the "System" and "Utilities" folders from the safe backup place Copy project folders from backup safe place to F:\arcgisserver\directories\arcgisoutput Don't copy over the ".site" "System" "Utilities" and "Unsecured" folders from the safe backup place Copy project folders from safe backup place to F:\arcgisserver\directories\arcgissystem\arcgisinput Don't copy over the ".site" "System" and "Utilities" folders from the safe backup place Copy over all the folders and files from safe backup place to F:\arcgisserver\config-store\security Copy the “arcgis-dataspace.xml" in safe place to F:\arcgisserver\config-store\data Stop/Start ArcGIS Server Service Go through GIS Server Tier security settings Add “GIS Team” in Security Roles as Publisher Add Security to >Services >Site (Root) Stop/Start ArcGIS Server Service Thanks again.

I am the Admin for our ArcGIS Online (AGOL) subscription. We are using SAML/ADFS to authenticate our named users, therefore, the "Username" for our AGOL named users is their corporate email address. Our corporate email addresses are changing - Example: joe@abc.com to joe@xyz.com. Our existing domain (\abc.com) and the new domain (\xyz.com) are linked, so staff in either domain are authenticated in AGOL. How can I, as Administrator, change our named users' "Username" without removing them from the organization and adding them back in as a new named user? Removing them and adding them back in would require a ton of work in order to preserve their maps and data. Also, I don't see a tool in the geo-jobe 'AdminTools', free or Pro, that could address this need. Thank you

ArcGIS for Server: In-place upgrade from 10.2.2 to 10.3.1 Virtual Server - Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 24GB RAM and 4 CPUs Prior to the upgrades, we took a snapshot of the virtual server as our backup plan. We performed an in-place upgrade of ArcGIS for Server from 10.2.2 to 10.3.1. We then uninstalled ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) 10.2.2 and rebooted the server. Finally, we installed and configured ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) 10.3.1. Following the upgrades, existing map services, REST services and permissions were running and behaving as expected. However, shortly after completion of the upgrades the CPU Usage for the server spiked to 100% and stayed there. The process that was spiking the CPU was: Image Name = w3wp.exe User Name = ArcGISWebAdaptorAppPool I right-clicked on the w3wp process and clicked on the End Process option and the CPU would settle down to normal levels. Within 2-20 minutes, the w3wp process would be consuming all the CPU again. I had no idea what caused this behavior and had no idea how to stop it. Our map services are very critical for staff getting their jobs done, so we have since rolled our ArcGIS Server configuration back to 10.2.2 using the saved snapshot. I am, therefore, unable to look at settings that may have been changed by the installation of 10.3.1 components in order to replay to anyone who may reply to this thread. I am curious if anyone else has seen this behavior following an upgrade of ArcGIS for Server? We don’t have a complex system setup and typically these upgrades go flawlessly for us. Thank you.

Luke: The new ArcGIS Explorer 3400 really only fixes bugs and brings the application up to level with ArcGIS 10.3.x. Have your tried the "Collector App" on a tablet in conjunction with your ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Server assets? If you host your vector data as a feature service from your ArcGIS Server, users can use those data in a disconnected map. They can even edit the data and sync the edits back to your server/database.

Robert: Have you considered looking into a Windows tablet, now that Esri is nearing a release of Collector for ArcGIS on Windows 10? Windows 10 is a familar OS that is updated frequently and I'm guessing that tasks such as sideloading of basemap tiles will be easy.
