For NetworkFleet events, you will want two outputs - Add a Feature and Update a Feature. Add a Feature will be your cumulative (bread crumb trail) of events and Update a Feature will be only show the most current location. For the Add a Feature, you'll want to use the Delete Old Features like I described in my last post. For the Update a Feature output, you should have Update Only set to No, but Delete Old Features set to Yes. The Update Only option only works if you have a constant set of features to start from. For us it won't work because we may have a vehicle that goes offline for a period longer than my Delete Old Features setting. If that happens, the Update Only option would not create a new feature once that vehicle comes back online.

Hi Erik We typically use two methods to control this data. 1) The Advanced settings of your Geoevent output enables you to Delete Old Features and set the age of those features to truncate. 2) We make regular backups of the feature classes, so we don't ever completely lose that old data. A specific scenario might be snow plows. We typically get snow between November and March. We create daily backups of the snow plow AVL feature classes during that period by copying them into file gdb's and zipping those gdb's (might be overkill - could get away with less frequency) using Python scripts. Then we set the Advanced properties on our Geoevent output to only keep the data we need to use for public snow plow maps and internal analysis. We can always go back to an archived copy of the data if we need to use it. Actually, since my earlier messages we are now writing all of our NetworkFleet data to hosted feature services on ArcGIS Online and it works well. We then publish this data as hosted feature views, where we can control which fields are visible and other filters. Hope this helps.

Got that full path added. Now I'm getting this error: System.Exception: An error occurred during log collection: ArcGIS Log Query Error: Invalid token, ClientID does not match. StatusCode: 498 at ESRI.PS.EIST.SystemLogParser_Plus.CLI.StartHere.Main(String[] args) Instead of using my server domain name, I tried using my server's elastic ip address and that worked!! Thanks for your help.

I'm trying to add the System Log Parser for ArcGIS Task Add-on to Monitor 10.7. I'm getting the error below: I've followed the pdf instructions exactly. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks

When I try to add my Amazon Counter, I'm getting this error: "UnauthorizedOperation: You are not authorized to perform this operation." I'm wondering if my IAM user is configured correctly. I've only added two permissions (per the 10.7 Monitor documentation): I set the Sample Interval to 15 minutes because not all of my EC2 instances have Detailed Monitoring Enabled. Am I missing something?

Just curious - is there a benefit to using an Amazon counter vs a system counter for my EC2 instances?

It would be helpful in ArcGIS Monitor to see which ArcGIS Server map services have feature access enabled. Even more useful would be if we could see the specific enabled capabilities of those map services with feature access enabled.

Hello I am hoping to use GeoEvent to populate a unique identifier attribute field with the date/time stamp that the GeoEvent was received. For example, my GeoEvent Input is polling a feature service for new records that are added. When a new record shows up, I'd like to populate another attribute field in that same feature service with the date/time stamp of the new record. My first thought was to field calculate the unique id field using the "receivedTime()" value that I found in the documentation. Here are my Processor Properties and my GeoEvent service: I should mention my input is Polling a hosted feature service and creating a new GeoEvent Definition. My output is Updating a Feature against that same hosted feature service. I can't get this to work and I've struck out with my other ideas. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

Hello Folks We have been using Verizon NetworkFleet inputs with GeoEvent for about the past 18 months. I'm happy to share what we've learned (mostly the hard way). We currently have public snow plow maps displaying live vehicle locations around the City. Here a few notes that we have discovered along the way: The Verizon GPS payload is really the only one we care about For adding attributes like a vehicle id, vehicle group, or driver names, we found using the Field Enricher (feature service) is the most reliable way to go It is a good idea to come up with a data retention policy for AVL data because it can grow large fast and it will ultimately slow your feature service down if you don't truncate/archive it Here is some information I recently shared with another user about we setup our GeoEvent services to add vehicle id's and other custom attributes: To solve the vehicle labeling problem, I first published a hosted feature service in ArcGIS Online (you could also publish this to ArcGIS Server). This is my lookup table that contains the VIN's and their corresponding Vehicle ID's and Vehicle Groups. Here is the schema: And this is how that attribute table is populated: I needed our Public Works folks to create this table for me and then I loaded their table into this feature service. The geometry of the records is not important and not used, so I just gave all of the records a geocodable address. Now in GeoEvent, here is the service I created: I think the data stream I am getting from Verizon is actually just the GPS payload data, so I probably don't need the filter. The Field Mapper looks like this: You can see I'm creating a new GeoEvent Defintion that includes the new fields I want to populate. Now I send those GeoEvents to the Field Enricher, which looks like this: The Enrichment Fields are the new fields I want to populate using info from the lookup hosted feature service. The join is happening on the VIN field from both the incoming GeoEvents and my lookup hosted feature service. I am then sending the resulting GeoEvents to my output feature services - one for the current location only and another for the cumulative locations: I hope this is helpful. Feel free to contact me if you have other questions. Mike

We now have this working by using the domain description instead of the code in the filter.

Thanks for the feedback, Jacob. My test setup was very similar to your suggestion, except for my health check url. When I go to my Portal sign in page from an external ip or domain name, I keep getting this redirect error. My load balancer has listeners for 80 and 443, both forwarding to a target group that is pointing to my Portal health check url over https (443). My target is healthy. I can reach the Web Adaptor - Portal endpoint from the server itself using machine name, private ip, and localhost. When I try to reach the Web Adaptor - Portal sign in externally, using the external ip, public dns, or the Route 53 domain that I have pointing to the ALB, I get the redirect error above. This is from the browser console: Invalid 'X-Frame-Options' header encountered when loading 'https://<mydomain.com>/arcgis/sharing/rest/oauth2/authorize?client_id=arcgisonline&redirect_uri=https://<mydomain.com>/arcgis/home/postsignin.html&response_type=token&display=iframe&parent=https://<mydomain.com>&expiration=20160&locale=en': 'ALLOW-FROM https://<mydomain.com>' is not a recognized directive. The header will be ignored. ***I have not yet setup and configured ArcGIS Server to federate with this Portal*** Any ideas??

I've been tinkering with this, but without success. I'm not sure which port(s) the load balancer should be forwarding to. I thought 443 because the Web Adaptor is forwarding to 7443. And would I add my EC2 instance to my target group over 443 or 7443? Or would I add the Web Adaptor url over 443 to the target group? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks
