Cesar, You can create the network with restrictions setting the speed limit but Navigator will not "enforce" that drivers maintain that speed. This will just affect how the routes get generated in the app as well as the projected arrival time which assumes drivers obey the posted speed limits. With respect to creating routes, the beta version of Navigator (https://community.esri.com/groups/navigator-for-arcgis-beta?et=invite.join.sgroup.unmodifiable ) has support for Pre-planned routes. I recommend reading this post as it explains the new functionality is detail https://community.esri.com/groups/navigator-for-arcgis-beta/blog/2018/09/28/routes-in-navigator Hope this helps, -Brent

One thing that I think is worth noting here is the next release of Navigator (18.1) (due for release in November) Navigator will support consuming routes directly from ArcGIS Online and Portal/Enterprise. The general workflow would be this: 1. Create a route with one of the many tools on the platform which let you do so. 2. Save route in Online or Enterprise as a "Route Layer" Item. 3. Share the route with a driver. When that driver logs into Navigator their routes will show up. With respect to the original question on creating maps for Navigator the workflow is this: 1. Use ArcGIS Pro to create a Mobile Map Package with a network in it (ArcMap can not create MMPKs) 2. Share that MMPK in Online or Enterprise /Portal 3. SHare it with the drivers in your fleet who will need to use Navigator Hope this helps, -Brent

I think Xander nailed it, Navigator is not localizing the decimal separator properly for the locale your device is in. You will need to use the "." character as the decimal separator when using the DD notation in the search. in short, 3.456, 37.079 should work. Hope this helps, -Brent

Hi Diego, What version of Navigator are you using? Also is there any way you could share the MMPK with us? Feel free to email it as an attachment to navigator4arcgis@esri.com. If it is too big for that we can coordinate on another way for you to get the data to us so we can help you. Thanks, -Brent

Omar, These are great enhancements to Navigator some of which will certainly be considered for the upcoming release of Navigator which is currently underway. I also encourage you to also use the Esri Ideas site to crowd source these great enhancements so we can get a better idea of the more popular requests and prioritize those. Here is a link to the navigator page: ArcGIS Ideas Thanks again, -Brent

Juan, I am not sure what the need for Google Maps is in the workflow at all. Collector will pass a location to Navigator and the Navigator app will generate a route and start navigation to that destination complete with turn by turn orations at each maneuver. Is the request to: A: Have the Google Maps App orate the directions as Navigator guides the end user through the route which was generated in Navigator? If so, this is not supported by either app and I would like to understand further the root cause of the request, maybe there are enhancement we could make to Navigator to alleviate/satisfy this request. -or- B: Have Collector pass a location directly to the Google Maps app so Google Maps can generate the route, guide the end user through it and orate each specific maneuver? - or- C: Something I am completely missing ... wouldn't be the first time 🙂 Thanks, -Brent

Justin, Thanks for your feedback, My places are personal artifacts that we are assuming you do not want to remain persisted on the device after you sign out. Could you go into some more details as to your workflow here and why you would need them persisted between multiple logouts? In general, when you sign out Explorer will delete any information created/persisted by that user. This includes recent search history, recent maps as well as places. Happy to discuss ways of making places more useful to you and your organization however, so it would be great if you can share your workflows with us. -Brent

That's great news Robb and thanks for your patience. We are working with Apple on the review and hope to have it live in the app store in a couple days. For some more context for others: We have released a build Explorer 17.1.2 on TestFlight which addresses the following issues: BUG-000106480 —Pop-ups are not consistently displaying values when the field alias is different from the field name. BUG-000106814 —Configuring custom attribute display to show multiple fields returns nothing. BUG-000107080 —Attachments don’t display for map service layers. Feature search can fail when searching integer fields using the equals operator. If the request for an OAUTH page fails when signing in, show a message instead of a white screen. Please note we have not fixed BUG-000106721 — Adding shapefiles enabled for z-values but not containing any into a map stops the map from loading. The error message displayed is The shape must have a Z value. But this fix should be in a beta build which should be ready in a day or two. If you want to participate in the Beta just email explorer4arcgis@esri.com with your contact info. As always your patience is greatly appreciated and any feedback is always encouraged, -Brent

Darren, We are currently certifying a fix for these issues and should have something on TestFlight and eventually in the app store by the end of the week (best case scenario) or early next. -Brent

Eric, While Explorer is not an editing app like Collector, so there will never be modified content on the device to sync back with the server, downloaded content such as Mobile Map Packages, can change on the server and there is a way to check for updates and download the latest version of that content in the app. This can be achieved by tapping the overflow button on the downloaded map and selecting "Check for Updates" in the action sheet that is displayed (see attached image). Explorer will also check at various points, when it has access to the server (read: when you are online), to see if the downloaded content can be updated. If an update is available, Explorer notifies the end user that updates are available, however it will always be the end users responsibility to initiate the download.

Robb, We decided to remove the workaround for the popup display for older servers because it didn't address all issues, namely, it was not resolving formatted values like date fields and coded value domains. We are currently working on a more robust solution that will return attribute information exactly as desired. Thanks for your patience as we address this as soon as we can. I can assure you this is our teams highest priority and we will get a testflight build out there as soon as it is addressed. -Brent

All, First of all thanks for the feedback! I can personally say that the team takes this feedback seriously and is working hard to address the problems which the 17.1.0 release introduced. More specifically, we are working on a 17.1.1 release as you read this which will address some of the more common issues. These issues include: - the inability to see certain attribute fields in a popup when they are served from an ArcGIS Server service - the inability to toggle the visibility of sublayers. - This build will also address some issues with URL schemes when they are included in the popup custom attribute description. With respect to some other feedback we heard at the User Conference and via other channels regarding some functional changes we are considering the following in a release after 17.1.1: - Add groups to the browsing experience - Bringing back the magnifier - Research into the identify of map service layers and webmap opening speeds - Drop pin behavior - Allowing one to share a map with others in the organization Timeline for the 17.1.1 release: We want to keep the 17.1.1 release focused on the crucial issues you have reported which I mentioned above. If we do this, we "should" be able to have a release available in the coming week (possibly 2 weeks if the Apple review process is slow). We will be having a very short Beta for these changes and that will be available much quicker, If you want to participate in this beta please email Explorer4ArcGIS@esri.com Please keep your feedback coming as the team will react to this as fast as possible. Thanks, -Brent
