I'm on 2.7, which is the version I think you need to get up to in order to solve the problem of editing PDFs.

Hi Tom - if it helps to have more info, our missing rectangles/lines were originally created in ArcMap (10.7.1 probably?), then imported from mxd to layouts in Pro. They were created using the ArcMap layout graphics tool most likely. They've always functioned in <2.7 Pro, I think we probably first imported this particular set of mxd templates around 2.4 maybe...? But not really sure. Don't know if that process falls under the category of "programmatic" or not, just wanted to let you know in case it helps ferret out the problem.

Hi there - what is the PVRC file you mention above? The only licensing I can find regarding StreetMap Premium is the sdlic file, which I've successfully authorized my workstations with but now would like to authorize our federated ArcGIS Server and Portal, do I simply execute that same license file on the Server machine? Then we would be able to publish the Premium stuff as a service? Thanks!

"BUG-000136364" is all I got from support after sending in my template..."case closed", that's sad. I think everyone who's experiencing this should continue to comment on this post, maybe just to see how prevalent the issue is. Copying and pasting these elements and replacing legends on all of our hundreds of existing Pro projects is not really helpful, and is going to cost us a lot of money and time. While the Python solution would work yes, I can't really expect/explain that to our "lighter" GIS users who only occasionally use Pro.

Yes - I'll contact support - my post was mostly to acknowledge that, like the original poster, we are seeing the exact same behavior - thanks!

This is indeed happening to us as well, we have some boxes and lines that serve as a title block, on all of our previously created Pro figures now, these graphics are dropped/missing when we export to pdfs. Also our legends don't function correctly either, we seem to lose the ability to drag/drop layers from existing Pro projects, we end up having to recreate all of our legends too. Can someone look into this? Happened right after Pro upgrade to 2.7 with three of our analysts on 6 different machines.

Hi Laura - I was referring to help desk guy's reply above which seems to indicate a fix might be coming?...but I'm confused by "next update 2.17" when my Pro, like yours, is already at 2.6.2.

Hi Thomas - do you have an opinion from real world experience, or know anything about, the difference between Xeon vs i9 processors? I see the "get more cores" thing tossed around for spec'ing a workstations for Pro and am just wondering why exactly that is. I was telling our IT dept. that it's more important to get cores and Xeons would be better and clock speed would get us diminishing returns, but can't seem to find a discussion/facts to show them, of exactly why that is, i.e. why choose Xeon over i9, why are more cores better than GHz increase, does it have something to do with the way Pro functions? Anyone else have any thoughts or links to this topic? Thanks in advance!

Ok, I ended up utilizing a file share in the end and everything seems to be working. Regarding the Documentation - when I get to 7a in the link above " Organization > Role." - this part, I'm on 10.7.1 and when I go t o Settings - there is no "Role" tab or anywhere that I can see to edit the roles on the Portal - how do I finish setting this up, or is this info out of date and I no longer need to do this part?

Great - thanks that is very helpful. Is it possible to use an Enterprise geodatabase as a raster datastore?

Hi there - has this documentation ever been improved yet? I'm still looking for instructions on how to configure one (a single) ArcGIS development Enterprise server to perform Raster Analysis by adding an Image Server Role and configuring a Raster Data Store. I know this is not recommended, would be for testing only, but is it possible? I have a license ready for Image Server, is it simply a matter of authorizing this existing dev ArcGIS Server/Portal (federated already) to the Image Server Role, and then selecting this machine for Raster Analysis in the Portal Organization settings? I'm confused about a few things like: the need to federate, if my (Portal 10.7) is already federated, can I simply turn on Raster Analytics? or do I need to federate it again(seems unlikely)? there's another point in the documentation where it recommends not having one server do both Image Server and Raster Analytics, can I authorize our existing ArcGIS Server Dev machine for and Image Server role, then just turn on Raster Analytics in our Portal if I have a Raster Data Store created/prepared? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Here we are 3 years later...if there is a PDF ISO standard for office documents, then we should be able to edit PDFs with the standard tools for handling PDFs, like Adobe Acrobat for example. Every word processing department on the planet will expect to be able to open a pdf and do something as simple as change a figure number or a title block, and this is going to cause major issues for us if/when we switch our entire company (60+ gis "users" in 10+ offices) over to Pro. What that means is that our word processors won't be able to make minor edits to any gis figures in our reports, they will have to send them back thru the GIS dept. They don't have Illustrator, they are not graphic designers, they have the tools designed to manipulate "office" PDFs, for example Adobe Acrobat. I've worked at several consulting companies and thus far they all operate like this, issuing hundreds of reports a week that include gis figures. I know you guys are working on it, but can you tell me why a PDF exported from Pro doesn't adhere to the same basic PDF standards as say, a PDF exported from Word or Illustrator, or Inkscape? I can export PDFs from all these other programs, and then edit them in Acrobat just fine. Sorry for the rant - thanks!

Can someone please comment on this with a solution/explanation? I am trying to do the same thing, no matter how closely, both in zoom, etc. that two different layouts are arranged, I simply cannot get an element to land in the same spot from one layout to another, even if I duplicate the layout, why is this happening? How can I simply copy a text box from one layout and have it land in exactly the same position on a different layout? They always seem to inexplicably shift on me...do not feel like entering coords for every text box that I copy/paste in Pro... On another note, if I alter text in a text box, instead of staying put, the text box shifts off center with text box above for example, any way to control this?
