Ted, most of the points you raise are resolved in Pre-release. Let us know if you see the same issues once you've had a chance to test it.

You're correct, you do not need sources or sinks defined in order to perform a trace, but you do need to define sources or sinks in order to set flow direction using the Set Flow Direction command. There are ways to set flow direction that based on digitized direction that does not use sources/sinks, but that is not available through the Toolbar. If you don't have any sources/sinks defined in the geometric network in the personal, I'm not clear geodatabase on how the Set Flow Direction command is enabled. Can you explain what it is you're trying to do? That might help me figure out what is going on.

A few questions: - Is the data versioned and are you editing when you try and click the Set Flow Direction command? - Do you have junction feature classes defined as Sources/Sinks in your geometric network?

Jim, There's two ways to do this; Copy/Paste and XML Import/Export. Copy/Paste should work, if you're running into errors, we need to look into them and figure out what the issue is, can you contact Technical Support about this issue? XML Import/Export of the feature dataset will pick up the relationship class within the feature dataset, should you should be able to use it as well if Copy/Paste isn't working for you.

Mark, Instead of using the import/export tools, try using the Copy/Paste functionality, this will preserve Object IDs from the source to the target geodatabase.

Doug, Have you seen this knowledge base article: http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/34668 It may point to the issue you're running into. Do you have a Must Not Overlap rule defined?

Nate, this sounds like a bug with Attribute Domains of type Float. I don't think it has anything to do with the geometric network. The best way to handle this is to get a tech support incident logged so they can look at the issue. We are looking at some other issues with Domains and Validation for 10.0 SPs, this issue might be related to one of them.

Nate, You should not have to recreate your geometric network when moving to 10.0. Note that this issue probably has nothing to do with your geometric network, validate works on the feature classes, not the network in this type of scenario. Can you extract out a subset of the data to a file or personal geodatabase and reproduce the issue? You can use the Extract Data command on the Distributed Geodatabase toolbar to do this. If so, can you attach it to the thread?

Is there a way to set a layer datasource in ArcMap to a PGDB that is encrypted with a password? No, ArcGIS does not support working with password protected personal geodatabases, please see this KB article: http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/34871

yes i tried associate it manually and it work. but it didn't work on the table having subtypefield. Once you have subtypes defined, you need to make the field and domain associations on the Subtype tab.

I'm afraid at this point I can't suggest anything else without looking at your database. Please contact Technical Support so they can help you investigate this issue.

I recall being able to copy layers in one GDB, and then paste, and in the data transfer dialog being able to change the names, currently, that functionality is not working as I recall. Ted, the name can only be changed when there is a name conflict with another class in the target geodatabase.

re good morning i tried manually associating the domain with the field in ArcCatalog but in the dropdown list of doamin didn't work it's locked so i can't associate the field with the domain. note i have implemented the geodatabase in the DBMS (sqlqerver) with CASETOOl Thank you Can you clarify what is locked? Is it the feature class?
