Nikki, The only option I can think of at this time, is the use the Date/Time stamps for the Location Tracks and the distances between them to calculate the Speed. A search finds a few hits on how to do this: arcgis desktop - Calculating speed along point feature class (.gpx) in ArcMap? - Geographic Information Systems Stack Ex… https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=7f668753b7864c27a00f1fcf263aafd3 Workforce is planning to include speed as part of the metadata we write for each track location, in a future release. Hi Nikki, Workforce does not currently persist speed as part of worker location, but that is something we'd like to add in an upcoming release. You could use the worker tracks to calculate speed of the device, but it would be an estimate. Craig

Hi Jevita, Understood, there's a few ways that you could do this; but I believe this topic from the Online help is the best place to start: Add a layer from a CSV file—Get started with ArcGIS Online | ArcGIS Once you have the csv file added as a layer into Online, you'll be able to add that Layer to the Dispatcher web map in Workforce and use the features to create new assignments. You can configure the popup title for that layer to point to the Address information in the layer you loaded. This section of the Workforce doc walks you through that step: Create your first project—Workforce for ArcGIS | ArcGIS If you run into any issues doing this, please contact me at cgillgrass@esri.com Craig

Will the dispatchers need to create assignments from the spreadsheet once? Or is this a regular task that they need to perform? Craig

Hi Mike, No, we don't host them on a server that you can point to; they are custom symbols that we include with Workforce to provide a better experience on the mobile device. I can probably host this on a site for you to reference, but it may take a bit. Can you contact me offline about it? Craig

Hi Alison, In the scenario where you have many assignments that aren't ready to be assigned; is it possible to leave these in the Unassigned status? If it's not possible, are you able to talk about the difference between an Unassigned assignment that isn't ready for assignment vs an Unassigned assignment that is ready? Check-box filters for workers or worker types (again, analogous to the assignment status) would similarly be helpful. Can you go into a little more detail on this request? thanks, Craig

Hi Alison, Thanks for your post on Workforce, you've raised some very good points around workflows we do not currently support. Let me add some information to each one to give an idea of where we're headed: For example, if work has to be done and someone is out sick, the replacement worker should have access to that individuals' tasks. Single sign-on doesn't allow that. A Dispatcher is able to re-assign any work assignment from one worker to another to facilitate re-assigning work while Workers are out of the office or unavailable. Assignments that are In Progress cannot be re-assigned; but that is something we're looking at. If a task has several parts, Workforce doesn't keep track of the progress of that task and managers have too much responsibility (and no mobile app) to make Workforce worthwhile. Correct, providing a way to track tasks within an assignment was not part of the original spec for Workforce. We know this is something users have asked for; but it's also something several business partners do quite well. If this is a requirement for a particular workflow, Workforce may not be the app to use. I have not yet found any use for which Workforce works OOTB; its only benefit is that I can add dropdowns on the fly with a hosted service. We know that Workforce isn't the solution for all scenarios, but we do have a large community who is finding value in it. I'd like to discuss your experience with Workforce in more detail and I've sent your a direct message with regards to that. thanks, Craig

Mike, Unfortunately, I haven't heard of this issue happening before. You're best resource to track this down will be to contact Tech Support; who can work with you to determine why a particular Dispatcher cannot select features in this feature service. Craig

Hi Steven, If you're unsure which users were deleted; there's a few ways we can determine which records are causing the issue. Are you familiar with Chrome Developer Tools? If you can capture the Error log from when you click on the User tab, I can identify the invalid users. Contact me at cgillgrass@esri.com and we can dig into it. Craig

Elle, Thanks for asking this question, it's an interesting discussion. When an integration is made between Workforce and Collector or Survey123; Workforce supplies the lat, long of the assignment to either Collector or Survey123 with the assumption that, it provides the user with a starting point. The user can then choose to either user that point or edit the location. In Survey123, you'll have 3 choices: - Keep the geopoint at the location specified - Use the GPS tool to indicate you want the point to be located at your current location - Open the Map and recenter the pin to the location you want to use There are no plans to provide an option during integration of Workforce to Collector or Survey123 to indicate whether the assignment location can or should be used. Having said that, if we get feedback that it would be useful to add this ability, we'd consider it. There may be some ways to handle this from Survey123; I suggest contacting the team through their forum https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123?sr=search&searchId=332ad668-6074-4b97-bcd7-6ea21fe63b15&searchIndex=0

Elle H wrote: How can I delete users and without deleting the user names in Assignment feature layer? I need to keep records of who completed the work even though he/she has left the Organization. Hi Elle, this is not possible with the current released version of Workforce; we have a fix for the User tab crashing/not displaying that will be available in our next update, which we are finishing development on and will be moving into certification. When this update is available, Workforce will recognize when a worker or dispatcher is referencing a named user that is no longer in your organization and will notify you of the issue. Your request to be able to maintain a record of who performed the work, even after they've left the organization, will only be partially fulfilled with this update. We have an issue in our backlog to provide better support for this workflow, but we have not assigned that issue to a release. Craig
