Hi Matt, FYI, Types of geodatabases - ArcGIS 10 help doc ... I would really like to embrace the new geodatabase format, but my understanding is that this level of querying and data structure is not available? You're correct. This type of querying outside of ArcGIS is not available at this time. But we're working on a File Geodatabase API. Please see this thread: File Geodatabase - Documentation and tools? Hope this helps,

Hi Davide, Technically, it is possible to embed Google Maps data into the Viewer. However, from a legal/licensing standpoint the answer is a little more complicated. Please see this great blog post from Rex Hansen (of the ArcGIS API for Silverlight Dev team) on the topic: Using Google Maps with ArcGIS Silverlight Hope this helps,

Hi James, The ArcGIS API for Flex is designed to work with GIS resources published from ArcGIS Server to build dynamic rich Internet applications. It's not designed to directly read/access .msd/.mxd documents. I suggest you look into ArcGIS Engine, a collection of GIS components and developer resources that can be embedded, allowing you to add dynamic mapping and GIS capabilities to existing applications or build new custom mapping applications. Hope this helps,

Hi there, What you are asking for is not possible. The basemaps that are preconfigured in the config.xml file of the Viewer are cached map services from ArcGIS Online. You can't zoom in "more" (i.e., to higher scales) on the basemaps, because the Viewer's highest zoom-in level is accessing the highest level (i.e., greatest resolution) of the cached map tiles for the services. FYI, some background information: What is map caching? Hope this helps,
