Hi Gagag, Ok, so it sounds like you are using ArcGIS Server 10.1 with Portal for ArcGIS (which release?) and it is NOT a federated deployment. Q1. What is the security/authentication model set for the Server site? This could be the built-in identity store, enterprise identity store, etc. Help topic here, Configuring ArcGIS Server security—Documentation (10.4) | ArcGIS for Server You can check by logging into ArcGIS Server Manager > Security tab. Q2. Did you enable HTTP, HTTP and HTTPS, or HTTPS only for your Server site? Secure ArcGIS Server communication—Documentation (10.4) | ArcGIS for Server Q3. Did you set security on your web services from ArcGIS Server? Restricting access to GIS web services—Documentation (10.4) | ArcGIS for Server Q4. When you added your web services to Portal by registering them - did you specify the fully qualified domain name as part of the URL that you added? If they were secure, did you save the credentials with the item? Hi Daniel, Please contact Esri Tech Support and open an incident so they can investigate further. I don't think it is possible OOTB to migrate/upgrade a hosting server configuration based on an enterprise geodatabase (in your case ArcSDE using SQL Server) directly to the ArcGIS Data Store. Hi Mostafa, You did not need to federate your Server site with Portal for ArcGIS (nor set-up a hosting server) to enable feature services from a Server site to be accessible in Portal and editable. Hi Steve, I tested with the sample REST endpoint your provided, microbio_geochemistry/decadal_precipitation (MapServer) and was able to define pop-ups in the web map, which are honored and visible in Web AppBuilder. For geoprocessing services, you have to first successfully execute the model in Desktop - this validates and verifies to Server that the model works. Then you would publish the GP execution plan to create a geoprocessing service. Based on your error, I suspect that something's amiss in your GP model. It seems like it's looking for a correct input to the model, perhaps an input polygon feature which you would need to overlay on a feature service (based on what you wrote above)? Hi Daniel, Did you upgrade your Server site to 10.4.1 BEFORE upgrading the ArcGIS Data Store to 10.4.1? I am guessing that you have Portal for ArcGIS deployed with a hosting server configuration, which means a Server site is federated with Portal. When upgrading a federated Server site with Portal, the order in which you upgrade (Portal vs. Server site) does not matter. But for the hosting server (e.g., Server site with ArcGIS Data Store), the order does matter and you need to upgrade the Server site first, then upgrade the ArcGIS Data Store. Hope this helps, ... Hi Charles, Can you please confirm: is this the first time you're attempting to publish content from this data store? > the issue (other than it just won't publish with a generic error) is the Analyze window in service editor says the data/folder is not registered and will have to copy, but when I try to register it says it's already registered with the server. Before trying to publish again, can you completely delete/remove the data store that is defined in ArcGIS Server Manager. Then in ArcMap, after you perform the 'analyze' operation before you publish the map, go to the Prepare dialog window, right-click the warning and open the Register data source with server dialog - then redefine the data store here. Then attempt to publish the map. > Rather than giving ESRI links can you tell me exactly what to do to properly 'define' the data stores in arc server? I doubt that I can provide steps that are more detailed than the help documentation. But this also depends on where your source data is stored. It sounds like you have the feature layer in an enterprise geodatabase (aka. ArcSDE geodatabase) because you mention SQL Server. In which case, you would define a database data store. Specific steps are here: Register your data with ArcGIS Server using Manager—Documentation | ArcGIS for Server (under the register a database section) In a typical workflow, you would define the database data store first, then attempt to publish the feature layer. > What can I check to verify that it is defined properly? After you've defined the data store, you can click the Validate button on the Data Store page in ArcGIS Server Manager. If a green checkmark appears, then you're all set.
