Hi Chris, As far as I'm aware, Web AppBuilder Dev Ed v2.0 should work with Portal for ArcGIS 10.3. - What authentication model is set for Portal for ArcGIS? - Is your Portal working in a completely disconnected environment? - Were any changes made to Portal or your network between using Web AppBuilder Dev Ed v1.3 and v2.1? Hope this helps,

Hi Carl, A repeat in a survey is modeled as a related table behind the scenes. I'm not sure if it's possible to modify your existing feature service to support the gi_repeat, by enabling a related table. I don't think this type of schema change is possible. Hope this helps,

Hi Gagag, > I am able to access this ArcGIS Service from ArcMap without any problems. The ArcMap gives the usual complain about the security certificate - but I can add the layer to the map and can query it. It all works perfect. This is likely because you probably already signed into ArcGIS Server in ArcMap (e.g., you opened a connection to Server from ArcMap to add the service). > While working in the Portal, when I create a Map and add this service as a layer to it, it only shows up in the map if I have logged into the ArcGIS Server manager in the same browser. If I log out of the ArcGIS Server Manager, the layer doesn't render in the map in Portal. This behavior suggests that your issue is an authentication problem. When you've already signed into ArcGIS Server in the web browser you can access the service, but when you haven't then Portal can't see it. FYI, ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS both have separate security models (unless you federate your Server site with Portal, and it sounds like you did not; also Server 10.1 does not support federation). For some background watch this UC tech session, ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS: An Introduction to Security | Esri Video Instead of adding the web services to the Portal map viewer directly, can you please add the web services a new Portal items, follow the help: Add items—Portal for ArcGIS (10.4.1) | ArcGIS for Server (see Add items from the web section) When you add the item, you will be asked to save credentials with the item. Save the credentials with the item. Then, in the Portal map viewer add the web services as Portal items, instead of adding the service directly - in this way, you'll also add and save the credentials for the web services to the web map. Hope this helps,

Hi Carl, The error message indicates that something is not matching between the survey and the feature service. Please double check that their schemas match. Please verify and confirm that you've met all the requirements of a submission URL in the help topic. I also noticed you posted the same question in another thread: Submission URL error In future, please only post once to avoid duplication of efforts. Hope this helps,

Hi Deepika, It might be more worthwhile to migrate your custom code to the latest Web AppBuilder release, instead of trying to debug your code on an older release, which may have some known issues. But your call. I am not a JavaScript developer and am not able to assist with checking your custom code. Please try re-posting your question in this forum, Web AppBuilder Custom Widgets Hope this helps,

Hi Carl, You can create a survey and associate it with an existing feature service. This is possible with the 'submission URL' column in the Settings tab of your XLS form in Survey123 Connect. Learn more here, Submission URL—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS When you publish the survey, a new form item is created and it will be associated with the existing feature service - but their schemas must be the same. When new surveys are collected, they will create new point features in the existing feature service. Is this what you are looking for?

Hi Paul, In the original post, Bryson said he is using Server 10.2, which would imply he is also using Portal 10.2. This was the first COTS release of Portal and in that release, our documentation said it was possible to use a single Web Adaptor for both Server and Portal. Since the 10.2 release, we've learned that it is not good to use a single Web Adaptor for both. So, in order to NOT contradict the 10.2 help documentation, I used the term "best practice". > I thought it was required that if using a Web Adaptor (WA) with both Portal and ArcGIS Server (AGS) that you had to use two independent WAs. True? Yes, you are correct. And in post 10.2 Server releases, the help doc says this. > You don't have to use a WA except in some settings, such as federation, reverse proxy, DMZ usage or NLB. True? The Web Adaptor is optional for ArcGIS Server (aka. GIS Server). The Web Adaptor is required for Portal for ArcGIS to work. > Regarding your comment about best practice: does that mean you can run Portal and AGS on one WA but its not recommended ... Incorrect. Please see my opening statements above - referring back to the 10.2 Server and Portal help documentation. > ... or are you saying that you could run AGS on a WA and Portal with out a WA (or vice versa) but that the latter setup of only one server using a WA is not considered best practice? The first statement is false and incorrect. The second option: Portal for ArcGIS with Web Adaptor + GIS Server without a Web Adaptor is a possible deployment option, it depends on your business requirements. > I will always set it up with two independent WAs and just thought that was required if you want to use a WA. It's easy enough to install a second one and the overhead seems fairly minimal. I always do the same. Keeps the Web GIS deployment "simple". Hope this helps, Derek
