Hi Janet, If these graphics are associated with a location on the map you should create them in data view; this way when you change your data frame in layout view, the graphics will resize and move with the map. Hello, You determine which layer you are editing in a couple of ways. 1. You can only edit one workspace at a time so if some of your data is in a geodatabase and some shapefiles, you wouldn't be able to edit both in the same edit session 2. When your data is in the same edit session you need to select the correct feature template to make sure you are creating the features you want to.
