From a workflow standpoint, this only differs from editing graphics in that you're editing features now instead. I disagree. Here's a good example why "Attribute Driven Symbology" is preventing my migration to Pro. I have hundreds of road gates to map. On our current cartographic product, we always show the gate as closed using representation, to indicate that a) there's a gate you CAN close; b)you might need a key; or c) drive a big enough fire truck to plow through a gate, should one be found locked before you. In other words, depicting gates in a common and easy to see cartographic style has a public safety need.  In ArcMap, this is easy. All my gates are points, they intersect the road, I use the representation rotate tool to rotate the gate perpendicular to the road.  According to this, the only way I can do that in Pro is by picking a value or direction ...which I'd have to assign to each point, after measuring the angle of the intersection of the road and the point (for some 450 gates). And yes, gates come, go, and move so I need to update this infrequently. Here's a more complex example, which, unless I'm missing a really obvious "button" or "menu", is not reproducible in Pro. Here I can move all my representation symbols away from the feature(s) being represented, align them, make them the same size, rotate them (all at once), and place them where they exhibit the least distortion from what the viewer needs to see in terms of geography. If I don't like where all 8 "symbols" are, I can select all 8 of them, once I've spent 15 minutes aligning, rotating, and scaling, I can drag all 8 around to the point where they convey that you will find these 8 services, and not cover up other geographic features.  I do agree with  It looks like ArcGIS Pro has not (yet) been designed for users with traditional mapping workflows It would he helpful, if Pro 2.3 or 2.whatever was the "We're focusing on cartography release" version.  ... On that note, what happened to Make Same Size/Width/Height? When aligning many elements, such as dual scale bars, text boxes, map frame insets, this is critical. I don't see how Pro can be used to create cartographic products without this ability. Is this a setting that is buried somewhere, like the page units decimal places? A turned-off tool that needs to be added to the ribbon? I see in Pro one can select multiple elements and "guess" at the Width/Height, but that requires clicking on each one first, writing down the dimensions, than experimenting which one is the one you want to apply to all elements.  ... This doesn't appear to have been fixed at 2.0.1 unless the "patch" is a separate download. The following runs fine as a logged in user, but fails when run as other user -> service account. The same service account has been successfully triggering 2.7 scripts for years, so it's not an OS permission issue. Never had any of these required to be authenticated to a Portal issues with 2.7, it's not clear why authentication to a Portal is required in 3.5.3 just to import a library. I believe the question is why can’t we publish to server from Pro? “Buy another expensive application and hire a full time sys admin to run it” isn’t really helpful There are far more business requirements that call for nothing more than a REST endpoint than there are for content management and discovery. Adding Portal as another  barrier to meeting that requirement unessesary.  ... View more

A very disappointing response from ESRI, as the lack of support for this tool in Portal is not documented. I wouldn't have gone through all the trouble to deploy it, then spend months troubleshooting it, and hours on the phone explaining the problem. Why aren't GeoJSON and GPX supported in Portal? Isn't Portal the same platform as AGOL? The status of Esri BUG-000104018 - When Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (Developer Edition) is configured with Portal for ArcGIS, adding a .gpx file using the Add Data widget fails. - that you have been associated with has been changed to Not in Current Product Plan. Will since you have an EGDB.....this is another one of those "Tech support will disown you" hacks #if they catch you doing it but... In SQL Management Studio, change the object_flags to 4 (from 256) and sde_type to 14 (from 12) for the GlobalID column in SDE_column_registry for both feature classes. Then do you move. From Updating your hosted feature services with ArcGIS Pro and the ArcGIS API for Python | ArcGIS Blog , the item search is executed with:  sdItem = gis.content.search("{} AND owner:{}".format(sd_fs_name, user), item_type="Service Definition")[0] Replace that with: sdItem = gis.content.search(query="title:"+ sd_fs_name + " AND owner: " + user)[0] The original search string was somehow causing the search to go boolean, which may or may not return the service name you had set with sd_fs_name, because it wasn't restricting the search to the item title.
