Using many, numerous SQL checks and validation tools, there are no issues in the data having LAT outside of -90/90 degrees> SELECT a.OBJECTID, b.n, a.SHAPE.STPointN(b.n).Lat AS Lattitude, a.SHAPE.STPointN(b.n).Long AS Longitude FROM dbo.STATES AS a, num_seq AS b WHERE b.n <= a.SHAPE.STNumPoints() ORDER BY a.SHAPE.STPointN(b.n).Lat, b.n; Shows all LAT falling well inside -90/90 . In addition, SSMS and Arc Catalog seem to handle this data nicely. I can use the data in numerous SQL expressions and no errors occur. Only when displayed in Arc Map does the error occur, which leads me to suspect that this is an issue with the Arc Map translation of the SQL Geography Type?

Based on another post you answered, that was the first thing I checked, and is not the case. Recalculating the extent, or defining a custom extent, does not remove the error.

I'm getting invalid LAT ranges when using ANY data in Arc SDE, Geography Data Type. Perhaps this is ignorance? To reproduce: Create, in Arc SDE 10.2.2, any SQL version, a polygon feature class with GCS NAD 83 as the coordinate system, Geography as the spatial/storage type. Load ESRI US States Shapefile into the Feature Class using the Arc Catalog "Load" tool; Observe how the States can be previewed in the Arc Catalog preview dialogue; In SSMS, query the table and select "Spatial Results". Note how SSMS shows the US States; If there was invalid geography, SSMS WOULD NOT show the states! Add the same data to Arc Map; I've tried every sql geography validator there is, and this data passes. There are no latitude values that fall between -90 and 90. Nor are there null latitude values in these data. Tried on numerous computers with SQL native client 10 or 11, same error; Same error on SQL 2008 R2 or 2012 SP2 It seems like ArcMap is pivoting the lat/lon translation? How is this possible? Either this is a new "feature" of 10.2.2 or I celebrated Columbus Day way to hard and I'm missing something obnoxiously obvious.

A fresh install of SQL 2012, Arc SDE/Server 10.2.2., Arc Map 10.2.2. Create a new feature class and select "Geography" as the configuration keyword, GCS_North_American_1983 as the CS. Get the following error when attempt to view, or use, the FC.

Being able to sync only via wireless is a pretty big barrier to implementing collector for most federal land management agencies, which, big surprise, don't have wireless coverage over 99.9999% of the lands they manage. Looking forward to seeing this FGDB capability.

Has anyone gone down the road of a SQL 2008 to 2012 upgrade? I almost exclusively use the Geometry storage format, and SQL 2012 upgrade advisor is complaining about: Warning about client side usage of GEOMETRY, GEOGRAPHY and HIERARCHYID The assembly Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.dll, which contains the spatial data types, has been upgraded from version 10.0 to version 11.0. Custom applications that reference this assembly may fail when certain conditions are true. I'll naively assume this doesn't affect ArcGIS operations.....? What about doing in in-place-upgrade versus a new install? There are pros and cons to both, the in-place upgrade could fail, and the new install will take forever, In either case, I have good backups of the server the databases, I just want to go with the least-work option.

Either I'm missing the obvious place where this is documented how-to, or its not possible? I currently have a GP service on my ArcGIS Server, works great when tied to a Flex Map in a browser. Users can "print" to several formats, either 11 by 17 or 8.5 by 11, using our organizations REQUIRED map template for publishing printed maps. I'm migrating my content to Portal, and would like the same functionality.....users can open a map....and there is a "Print" feature....that enables the user to print to PDF, JPG, etc...using the Map Template I've previously set up. The default "Print" button and its output in Portal is horrible. Is this even possible?

Russell, does this imply that there is a size/feature count/attachment limit with Collector? I too, observe this behavior, intermittently. It would be nice if there was: Some kind of logging that we could access to see what/where the failure is occurring; Some way to recover data off the collector device when the sync fails; Some way to globally reset GlobalID's on new or edited features on the collector device to force them to post to the server; Not being able to recover data off a collector device when sync fails is a pretty significant deal-breaker when evaluating Collector for operational deployment. I've done really mean things like turn off the wireless router or reboot the device mid-sync by means of testing, which, is the kind of operational environment that reflects real-world use cases. When that sync fails, there's some "flag" set somewhere that convinces some part of this whole system that the sync was successful, and I'm not getting that data back on the server....ever. Bad news for a team of 6 that just came back from the field and collected several dozen new features in Collector every day for a week.

Is your output going to a network or a thumb drive? If so, change it to local drive. Also, I've found that creating a whole nw input/output folder and starting the whole process over sometimes clears the gremlins. Try deleting all the contents of your app data temp direcory.

I eventually stumbled across this gem of a post which contains the login. Why should I have to "Follow" something in order to be able to find it? The old post in the old forum, worked. You went to the forum, and there it was. No special configuration, customization of a "Stream", or hunting aimlessly to find it. One click, and there it was.

The old, and easily-accessible forum had a sticky that contained the login for the Hydro FTP site. Where is that sticky? Or where is the login information?
