Hi @NicolasGIS So did you do a manual backup of the TileCache datastore from the backup utility and then do a restore from that manual backup - and if so did that still take 15 hours? Or did you do the restore from the webgisdr and that took 15 hours?

@cle444 , this has nothing to do with portal. The 60 second timeout setting is the maximum time a client will wait to get a service when called from ArcGIS Server. So if the operation you are trying to do is timing out on you after 60 seconds, that means portal is not accessing the feature layer collection. You can change that setting in the ArcGIS Server Admin directory for a Hosted feature layer (i.e https://yourDNSName:6443/arcgis/admin/services/Hosted/YourFeatureService.FeatureServer) but I really, really recommend against doing that - because again if you have a timeout after 60 seconds, then you likely have other issues.

Ok @RandyCasey , thanks for the chart, missed it somehow. No no no, they do not mitigate backwards and thank you for pointing that out.... yeah its a bit like widget development in the wab and / or jsapi libraries and compatibility, only this is a runtime deal, much more involved. But because of the branch versioning and Pro's increasing ability to fully manage Enterprise, I don't know how they can completely get away from the UN tie in to Enterprise releases. But I really like what you say here ". . . further allowing later versions of Pro to continue to manage an earlier, but still supported, UN . . ." and would hope that esri does to. As it is, without UN I'm updating portal because users want the latest configurable and/or instant apps, and I'm always hoping the next release fixes the bugs (like logging levels for minor stuff) . And then of course I want the latest map viewer and field apps releases, survey 123, etc. Thanks for the insight-

Hey @Oiligriv , I just saw this, my apologies If you configured ArcGIS Insights, you must uninstall ArcGIS Insights prior to upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise. After the upgrade is complete, you need to install a compatible version of ArcGIS Insights.

Hi @RandyCasey , are you finding that minor upgrades of Pro are not allowed as well? (i.e. 2.9.1, 2.9.2 etc) or is it just the major releases of pro? Also, does the Network Management Release plan kind of mitigate some of this? In that being able to upgrade every other year to major release versions doesn't seem too onerous (maybe, we'll have to see is my guess) . . . At any rate we're upgrading enterprise to 10.9.1 this week and are finishing our UN migration sometime in Q1 2022 so we'll have our hands full as it is- Thanks-

you shouldn't have to do all that - I'm not reading anywhere in the upgrade help https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/install/windows/upgrade-portal-for-arcgis.htm where you need to uninstall the addons - but we're not using those components so I'm sure you know better than I. For us, the only thing I have ever had to do was check to make sure the web adaptors for portal and server were in fact unregistered after I uninstalled them from our web server e.g. https://myDNSName:6443/arcgis/admin/system/webadaptors/long-alphanumeric-name/unregister

If it were me, I would go into Pro, enable editor tracking on all the feature classes that participate in this feature layer collection, add global ids, and perform an overwrite weblayer. Or, if you have custom settings on the current feature layer collection, publish a new web feature layer collection and copy over any custom popup settings that you can. Otherwise, yes the 'enable editing . . . ' from the settings page, (1) portal is trying to add the editor tracking fields feature by feature. (2) There is no timeout setting that can be adjusted for hosted feature layers and (3) yes as far as I have experienced that is expected.

Hi @Oiligriv - I too am prepping for the 10.9 - 10.9.1 upgrade. When you say the webadaptor registers on the server, do you mean the hosting server, a federated server (or both)? Or/Also the webadaptor for portal? I have had to, in the past, go back into portal and re-register web adaptors but never for server . . .

I would go back and uninstall the web adaptor, then make sure that the web adaptor is unregistered through the portal admin page. I would then start over with the 10.9.1 upgrade. Sometimes deleting the portal web adaptor alone will not unregister it from portal and that can cause problems. Make sure to note the context of the Web Adaptor before you uninstall it.
