So the 24th and 25th the syncs were not completing. They timed out with failures and left behind the crpk files in my agol content root. For us, we have 14 distributed collaborations sending content from portal to agol by reference. They syncs are by schedule every 24 hours in from 12 am to 7am. They have been in place since 2018. We use the by reference method because we overwrite sd files on portal weekly via the arcpy sharing module in pro. I've learned that, because the content is by reference and not copies, that once the portal hosted feature layer data updates, the data update is reflected updated on agol regardless of sync since the layer is just pointing back to my hosted rest endpoint. Like @HenryLindemann says, the primary cause of failure for us is almost always poor network, sometimes ours, but mostly it's on the AGOL/AWS end. But I can say that I have never had a collaboration sync fail because of a schema change to an existing collaboration item, or because of adding an additional item to an existing collaboration. At any rate, it is aggravating when it happens, but I just kill the crpk's and wait. This time the syncs succeeded by the 26th. I probably wouldn't be so forgiving on this if I were collaborating live edit layers by copy, where a sync failure could lead to data loss....

In my experience the packages are left behind when syncs fail. One way to determine which packages are not being used is go into the portal content directory, go to 'portals>self>collaborations' click on a collaboration ID, then for 'Supported Operations' click 'Replicas'. Then by default any unused replicas in the last 30 days should show up. Whatever crpk file with an unused replica ID can probably be deleted.

Or in a sidebar or panel layout widget, place the layer list and legend vertically and as you click layers on and off the legend symbols appear. I would then adjust the the height and width settings (stretch, auto, etc) on both data widgets to I like @jcarlson 's idea too. . .

Ok thanks for your time. I can't see anywhere to make that work. I cannot add - as a filter source for the query widget - a layer from the same page and map widget: The map source does not display. As you can see, the map source 'Planning Layers' does not appear under the 'Added' tab: If the filter source does not come from the same page and map widget source, then it cannot act as filter source for the query widget. It is ignored. If you can get that workflow to function, that's great but I can't.

@TianWen - I also tried adding a second query widget where I just set up a simple attribute query. I had hoped that result might be available as an output for my spatial selection query widget, but it is not....

Hi @TianWen - I gave this a try and the output from the Filter Widget is not showing as an active or available Output Source for the Query Widget: Am I missing something?

Hmm, ok thanks @TianWen for looking at this. The Interaction from the help says as much: "When configured with a locator source, the Search widget generates an output data source that can be used in other widgets. " Although the help does not specifically say a layer source won't work, now we know. For my use case, I may just leave as is but thanks for the tip on the Filter Widget. I'll give it a try, re-publish and ping you . . .

Ok thanks @TianWen I see. Ok. This is the desired work flow: Using the Search widget, the user queries a parcel polygon via a Parcel ID from a feature layer source. The returned record should be visible as an Output source for the Query tool, where that geometry is then used a a spatial filter for another layer, like Zoning: As you can see, the Parcel Layer does not show up as an available output source. The 2 output sources that do appear are both Locator output sources.

Speaking of patches @JonathanQuinn , I have noticed that the patch notification tool for portal, server, data store at 10.9 now seem to list all updates as available regardless if those updates have been applied (they have). This is a new un-expected behavior that started yesterday 10/12/21

Hi @TianWen - well, that's the problem. This option: Spatial filter>Filter by> Selected features from data source>Add filter layer>Added tab doesn't seem to work. Nothing appears as selection set from my layers' attribute query to set as the filter for the spatial query. The only way I can see to get it to work is when the feature layer is pulled in from another map page in the ExB or an external source...

Thank you @TianWen It would also be very helpful if we could get at or modify the color setting for the return graphic. As it is, the pale yellow can be difficult to see against light baasemaps. If anything, most users are used to seeing a cyan, much like a selection.

Hello - For the Online ExB Query Widget - if we are going to be able to employ a Message Action for: Records created>Add action>Show on map, there should be a way to remove the graphic from the map when the record is cleared. 'Remove from Map' the created graphic. As it stands now, the only way to clear the graphic is to refresh the browser, or not use the 'Show on map' message action and only employ the 'Show on map' as a Data Action. Then we can at least remove the graphic from the map . . . But that sure takes a lot of clicks and is hard for the end user. I am glad to see clearing the Search clears its graphic.
