ArcGIS Online API Key for location services affected by June 2026 Update

Hello - we have a new API Key that we generated on 05/26/2026 to replace a legacy API key.  Our client is reporting that the Key no longer seems to be working or valid after last night's June 2026 update.

From their client the key appears 'expired'.  From the ArcGIS Online Overview and Settings pages the key appears fine.

The key supports basemap, geocoding and routing access for a TripSpark transit thing.

Hi @DavidColey It would be ideal if we could take a closer look at the API key in question through a Support case, we have not seen other reports of the same behavior. Are you seeing this with any other API keys?

Thank you for the reply @StephanieW - TripSpark was not able to replicate the error our transit group was seeing in the on-prem configuration of the 3rd party application.  I'm awaiting more feedback, but at this point there are likely other factors involved.

I believe we also experienced this issue.  An API key set to expire in September 2026 quit working around the same time.  It's used in a custom app to enable basemap display.  It was reported the map was rendering a blank white screen.  Sounds like similar symptoms from above. I don't have the ability to see if errors or logs are captured in the app (also 3rd party), but from the AGOL side the key looks valid.

I issued a second API key after the update from the same dev cred item, and when applied the app went back to functioning again with the new key.

I'll have to add this to the list of things to watch on AGOL update day.
