The trouble your probably running into is the character limit that occurs in a URL within IE: http - What is the maximum length of a URL in different browsers? - Stack Overflow i'm not sure if a 9.31 server accepts requests as POST instead of GET or as SOAP instead of REST but it would be worth looking into that option. all the other option could be to cut down your query into multiple queries than combine them back on the client

is the list of licence numbers always going to be the same? If so you could create a view in your database or a definition query in arcmap so that you have another layer that is already filtered

Hussam, What is the result you are trying to achieve? I have queried everything in your layer an there are only 39 features In your hospital layer. Is it possible to use a LIKE statement? If you are using the same list of license numbers each time you could create a view in your database that is based on that query, then select everything from that view. Regards Anthony

Hi, Thanks for the suggestions, I have previously looked at Location-allocation but this is not what I require. The issue I have is the networks are pre-existing and I want to try and see if I can use GIS to find critical nodes across all the networks (interlinked). This could be those nodes which would effect the most population if taken offline (in case of a water treatment plant or power station) or nodes that can have secondary effects, such as if a rail bridge collapses does this have a knock on effect meaning that coal cannot be delivered to a power station which then in turn effects the power output which could then effect something else and so on.... Regards Anthony

Mohammed, are are your images stored as attachments in your database or as files in your file system. if they are attachments, you can use the showattachments attribute in the popup configuration: ArcGIS Viewer for Flex if you you have them as images on your file system then you will need to create a virtual directory on your web server so that you can access each image by a URL, more info can be found in numerous other threads on the forum such as: https://community.esri.com/thread/55128?start=0&tstart=0 regards Anthony

I have found that whilst synchronising data between two databases arcmap would not immediately show the changes. If you started an editing session they would the show up. I think it's a bug with arcmap refreshing.

Ryan, it depends on what you mean by the database being updated. If you mean new features added, deleted or changed ( attributes or geometry) then No. But if there is a change to the database schema I.e. New fields added to an existing feature class or new feature class added then Yes. regards Anthony

Monrath Have you looked at the documentation here: https://github.com/Esri/map-journal-storytelling-template-js#instructions Specifically: Can I deploy Map Journal on Portal for ArcGIS? Yes, Map Journal is included with Portal for ArcGIS starting at version 10.3. If you are using a previous version of Portal, you will have to deploy Map Journal in the following folder ArcGIS\Portal\webapps\arcgis#home\webmap\templates\MapJournal . If this folder already contain a previous version, make sure to first delete all of its content. Then refer your Portal documentation for instructions on publishing a new web application item and adding it to the web application gallery. If you choose to deploy the template in another folder, some configuration will be required (see the configuration section in index.html). Then you should configure Map Journal to use the JavaScript API deployed on your Portal and not the one hosted by ArcGIS Online. This is optional but strongly recommended as some incompatibility may occur. To change the JavaScript API, edit index.html and locate pathJSAPI around line 100. Also note that the web application gallery preview feature redirects to the StoryMaps website, the target page can be modified in app/config.js > HELP_URL .
