I upgraded Pro from 2.5 to Pro 2.6 , I have some *.py files that I want to edit / run. right now I am not planning to install any IDE so I am trying to use ArcGIS Pro IDE do the job. now when I try to import arcpy in my script I get the following error: import arcpy print ("Worked") Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Users\Ahmad\Desktop\d\test.py", line 2, in <module> import arcpy File "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ArcPy\arcpy\__init__.py", line 79, in <module> from arcpy.toolbox import * File "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ArcPy\arcpy\toolbox.py", line 403, in <module> from .ga import SearchNeighborhoodStandard, SearchNeighborhoodSmooth, SearchNeighborhoodStandardCircular, SearchNeighborhoodSmoothCircular, SearchNeighborhoodStandard3D, CrossValidationResult, GeostatisticalDatasets File "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ArcPy\arcpy\ga.py", line 33, in <module> from arcpy import _ga File "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ArcPy\arcpy\_ga.py", line 30, in <module> import gapy File "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\Python\envs\arcgispro-py3\lib\site-packages\gapy\__init__.py", line 1, in <module> from ._gapy import * ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified procedure could not be found. it looks like its arcpy specific error, because when I try the following it works! import sys print (sys.version) I get the following output: 3.6.10 |Anaconda, Inc.| (default, May 20 2020, 01:49:13) [MSC v.1916 64 bit (AMD64)] Thank you

Yes It should, it might be switched while I am copying and pasting from my script to Geonet ( I updated the code snippet) , thank you for catching it. It seems to be a bug in Pro 2.5! Layer to KML works in Python window but not in Script tool [Update: Bug] The script works in Pro 2.4 , I am going to test on Pro 2.6 and confirm if it works or not.

Thanks Randy, I dont have any control on the lyrx file name or location, I think its apart of the LayerToKML Geo-processing tool. I tired to run the script from Pro Python window and it worked and I can see the file generated in the Temp folder even with {} in the name.

I am trying to write a very simple script that exports a layer to KMZ file using LayerToKML GP tool. import arcpy
out=r"C:\AhmadData\di\pro\test.kmz"
pLocation=r"C:\AhmadData\di\pro\data5\Data5.aprx"
p = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject(pLocation)
mp = p.listMaps()[0]
for lyr in mp.listLayers():
print (lyr.name)
arcpy.conversion.LayerToKML(lyr,out, 0, "NO_COMPOSITE", "DEFAULT", 1024, 96, "CLAMPED_TO_GROUND") the Data source is file FGDB and Pro map has only one layer with 10 lines features ( the data is very simple) the script executed locally on my C drive, but I keep getting this error arcgisscripting.ExecuteError: ERROR 000210: Cannot create output C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Temp\{74AB2B10-C6A1-4D89-AB64-FE6CE55D17FE}.lyrx Failed to execute (LayerToKML). I checked my local temp folder and I have full Read and Write permissions. my question is why I am getting this error, and why the tool is trying to export the lyrx to the temp folder? I tired to set arcpy.env.workspace to point to the project location but it didnt nothing. I am using ArcGIS Pro 2.5 Thanks

I totally agree with you, ArcGIS Server running in AWS is Iaas for GIS admins who install , maintain and manage it. and its Paas for publishers , users or even developers who utilize the rest api.

I agree with Josh, my understanding ArcGIS Server on Amazon is Iaas since you will me managing the OS and the software. this is supported by the following blog post. ArcGIS Enterprise in the cloud but your post made me question my understanding and do a little research , it looks like esri considers ArcGIS for Server as Paas!!! I am not sure why or what made them consider it as Paas Cloud GIS Terms - GIS Lounge Cloud Computing - GIS Wiki | The GIS Encyclopedia

To allow users to fully customize AGOL landing page in order to reflect the organization's branding they need to change text colors , background colors , also to be able to embed URL links in the home page. the current version doesn't allow this and limits the text and background color to black,gray and white. Having limited colors defeats the purpose of org branding.

According to the esri white paper : https://www.esri.com/content/dam/esrisites/en-us/media/pdf/virtualization-of-arcgis-pro.pdf Citrix Virtual Apps (Formerly XenApp) is not recommended for ArcGIS Pro. This delivery method is reliant on a single hosted operating system and resources that can hinder the delivery to users and not provide the best user experience. the Current supported visualization environments for ArcGIS Pro include: o VMWare ESXI and Horizon View o VMWare ESXi and Citrix XenDesktop o Citrix XenServer and XenDesktop I remember that esri has / or sells appliances designed to virtualize ArcGIS Pro, take a look : https://www.esri.com/content/dam/esrisites/en-us/media/pdf/hardware-partners/dell/dellvirtualizationappliance.pdf

Hello, I was using HTML & CSS to customize the org Home page same as in the below post ,but for some reason some of the features in the home page stopped working exactly after AGOL update in June. /blogs/baldy/2017/07/24/beautify-that-homepage-creating-a-unique-look-and-feel Knowing that old home page will be discontinued in the future. I decided to upgrade the org landing home page to use the new Home Page that was introduced back in June 2020, but I feel it still missing a lot of basic features ,such as changing the text colors or use different background colors other than Black, Gray ... is there any way to change the text and background colors in the new home page designer ? also is there anyway to show open data sites as an item in the new page same as we show the web apps or maps ? Thanks , Ahmad

Thanks Xander Bakker, looks good. for my case I want to stay away from using HTML pop-up and keep using the table pop-up view which looks like it does not support color manipulation. Thanks a lot

Awesome, Thanks Chris. so to summarize, for the user groups, I can use either AD groups or ArcGIS Online built in groups. Does that apply to users Roles and user types too? also, one more question, what happens to the current/existing users I assume that they will still be able to use the ArcGIS Online Login, right ? is there a way to switch them all to SAML login or this needs to be done manually for every user. Thanks a lot, Ahmad

I am under the assumption that os.path.join(gbd_path,gdb_name) does the same job as using the "r" before the path! how I can get the same effect of "r" but in a programmable why? gbd_path is coming from a function that returns the path as the sting "C:\ahmad data\data\MyProject5" in python 3.X I was using from pathlib import Path p=Path(os.path.join(gbd_path,gdb_name)) this used to work, but I am not sure what to use in 2.7
