I tried Maptaskr in our CRM it looks like its a good choice if you are looking for a fast and out of the box tool to integrate your esri maps with Microsft Dynamics 365. The integration can be done either with ArcGIS Online hosted feature services or ArcGIS Server Services or by uploading files directly.

Hi, I couldn't figure out why arcpy.ListFeatureClasses() doesn't work when I set env.workspace = os.path.join (path,gdb) and works when I set env.workspace = r"path to the gdb"! here is an example: The below script works in my IDE import arcpy
#Solution 1
gdbANDpath=r"C:\ahmad data\data\MyProject5\f.gdb"
arcpy.env.workspace=gdbANDpath
fclist=arcpy.ListFeatureClasses()
print len(fclist)
prints >> 8 while the following script doesn't work and gives an error: import arcpy
import os
#Solution 2
gdb_name="f.gdb"
gbd_path="C:\ahmad data\data\MyProject5"
gdbANDpath=os.path.join(gdb_name,gbd_path)
arcpy.env.workspace=gdbANDpath
fclist=arcpy.ListFeatureClasses()
print len(fclist) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<module1>", line 31, in <module> TypeError: object of type 'NoneType' has no len() >>> fclist here returns none and fails to create a list of feature classes in the gdb! PS: Tested on ArcMap 10.7.1 and 10.6.1, on more than one gdb

Hi All, I am trying to set the identity provider in ArcGIS Online to use Azure Active Directory to configure ArcGIS Online Single Sign-On. I found this tutorial that walks-through the process: Tutorial: Azure Active Directory integration with ArcGIS Online | Microsoft Docs while the documentation perfectly outlines the steps, it is still unclear to me How ArcGIS Roles "Groups" and User levels works. Is ArcGIS users groups will be managed by the AD groups “the groups need to exist in the Active Directory” in order to use them and place users in that group. Or we still can utilize the native and custom groups in ArcGIS online? The reason I am asking, is because I have a lot of custom groups that I keep in ArcGIS Online environment but I don't want them to be created in AD : Admin, Editor, Viewer, Editor Limited, Site A Data Download Only, Site A Data Viewer Only.

gis = GIS()

Hi Jamal, This will take some time as I need to take into consideration all scenarios and workflows in your environment. and this might limit your overall process flexibility. My recommendation is to try use FME to automate the process, ChangeDetector can do most of the job, but before that, you need to check the schema and make the necessary schema changes to your feature class to match sde version. Then you can publish it with FME server and set a time period to rerun the process. ChangeDetector FME Memorandum: Read Schemas from Database with Schema (Any Format) Reader Thanks, Ahmad

Jamal, as Archit mentioned Web App builder Dev edition which is an app that you can install on your local machine (or server), and it will give you the same experience as the cloud solution. you also can add custom widgets to your apps

The viewer role doesn't have permission to do analysis by default. you can create a custom role and activate analysts from the settings.

- I am using AGOL basemaps, also I suspected that it might be Basemap related so I configured Pro to start with no basemaps but still got the same behavior. - tried with "Blank Map template" and "start without a template". got the same behavior though.

OK I see what do you mean now. I have the same behavior as you. when I close Pro after setting the units to meters, the setting from the option dialogue box reverts back to foot when I open it again.

Hi, I am wondering why setting up the parameter type as in output makes the tool auto -populate the output location and name without me letting me set it or control the output name. I have this script that does nothing yet, but I found out that when I try to set the input of the census layer, the output is gets populated automatically with random feature class name. How can I control at least the feature class name def getParameterInfo(self):
"""Define parameter definitions"""
census=arcpy.Parameter(
name="census",
displayName="Census Tracts",
direction="Input",
datatype="Feature Layer",
parameterType="Required")
output_fc=arcpy.Parameter(
name="output_fc",
displayName="Output",
direction="Output",
datatype="GPFeatureLayer",
parameterType="Required")
params=[census,output_fc]
return params
def execute(self, parameters, messages):
"""The source code of the tool."""
census=parameters[0].value
output_fc=parameters[1].value
Thank you,

Honestly, I was mixing the Labels expressions with Field calculator operations! in the Field calculator, there is no VBScript option anymore! but in the label expressions, it's still there and you can use it as the following. "Area A: "& [Area_A] & vbnewline & "Area B: "&[Area_B] & vbnewline & "Area C:"& [Area_C]
If you decided to use python here is how you can do it, but again I was under the assumption that the label expressions behave exactly as the field calculator; this is why I suggested using "!" instead of [] which was wrong. here is the correct way to do it: def FindLabel ( [Area_A], [Area_B], [Area_C] ):
mylabel="Area A:"+[Area_A]+"\n" +"Area B: "+[Area_B]+"\n"+"Area C: "+[Area_C]
return mylabel Or a more concise method by using .format to concatenate the string as Dan mentioned in his post def FindLabel ([Area_A], [Area_B], [Area_C] ):
return "Area A:{}\n Area B:{}\n Area C:{}".format([Area_A], [Area_B], [Area_C] )
