It gives me hope that they already implemented it in Pro 🙂 In the meantime (not ideal, but least bad) I defined the level 0 for the building with the lowest entry level. But this means that the building on top of the other (or the ones connected on level 2 and 3) do not not have a "ground floor", meaning the start at 1 or even 2, so all the "vertical orders" do connect correctly. The first vertical order of the building on top would be the same as the one of the building underneath. But this means also, that you won't see any "default" level for the buildings without a vertical order 0 in the Web Viewer (if your web map has the default level set to 0). The best for our case would be to not have a default level at all, only when you select the room you want, or your position in the mobile app, the floor picker would select the current floor (or even vertical order), which then applies to all the connected buildings. Same here... I couldn't find a way to modify, overwrite or delete the metadata, even when exporting to another FC the error persists. Even export to shp didn't solve it. The only workaround that did the job was to create a new FC, select all the entities from the original ones in edit mode and paste them into the new FC... (probably append would work also?) ... Hey Dough and Molly, Glad to see someone else facing the same challenges 🙂 We even have a building on top of another one connected with stairs and elevators... So yes, yes and yes: filter by vertical order throughout the campus (site) is a must. I think Esri is aware of these use cases, but did so far not provide a suitable solution supported by all apps. The most close to fit our needs came the mobile app version 1, but they changed the floor filter in V2 to look more like the Web/Kiosk/Field Maps. I ran into a similar issue when joining layers and filed a bug https://support.esri.com/en-us/bug/joining-a-csv-file-in-a-flooraware-map-with-a-floorawar-bug-000173730 I suggest you do the same for the append tool. Hi Aaron, Our project is rather special with many large open spaces and so on, so we will most probably continue to update our final pathways manually (if necessary), which is less time consuming than to reiterate the whole process... As far as I know, there is no way to automate pathways/connections between buildings so far, but correct me if I'm wrong! Good luck 🙂 ... View more

Absolutely! Overlapping levels between buildings definitely need to be addressed. Besides visualisation issues, it is impossible to add data (POI, beacon-placement...) with field maps on overlapping levels. We have the same issue here. our buildings are connected and imbricated differently on several floors, meaning there might be overlaps e.g. between a ground floor of one of the buildings and the basement floor of the connected one. I have considered editing the facility footprints, but this doesn't really solve the problem: - Every manual change in the data makes automated updates more complex (especially when working with BIM files). The BIM to Indoors Dataset-Tool does not "dissolve" and "erase holes" automatically. - Levels, units and details may be "outside" the footprint or building footprints still overlap when the bounding polygon of the facility includes all features What would be the best practice in this case?
