Hi again, So here's my fix, ok for small setups with only a few portal items and registered services: Install a second webadaptor and call it e.g. « server » Unregister the old « arcgis » webadaptor used for portal and server Configure the new "server" for server Configure arcgis for portal Adjust the webcontextURLs on both machines Unfederate and federate with the new /server/ Clean up some broken portal items (mainly registered services that kept their old URL) Fix some broken URLs in webmaps via ago-assistant (finally I had to republish some stuff, as this wasn't completely working, but I prefer that to completely rebuild from scratch...) If you want to rename the Portal WebAdaptor de portal there would be some more stuff to do and consider, but it might work (I didn't test that) HTH Edit: I just got a feedback from support: it's a BUG with 12.1: BUG-000168401[...] using 'arcgis' in the name for both the ArcGIS Enterprise portal and ArcGIS Server web adaptors causes an incorrect redirect URL [...] Annina Annina

Thank you @Scott_Tansley ! Weird, that everything was fine with 11.3... Meanwhile I also filed a support request with Esri. See what they suggest before I rebuild from scratch...

Hi, same issue here on 12.1 (two machine deployment). I have one web adaptor "arcgis" on the portalmachine configured for portal and server, the arcgis/rest works fine and I can access the :7433/arcgis/home, but not arcgis/home. I tried several options: - create 2 web adaptors (portal / server), this allows access to /portal/home, but breaks the access to all the data. -> Is that even possible, would a reindex solve that issue? -I configured the webadaptor "arcgis" only for portal (removed it for server), and then /arcgis/home works, but it cannot access the services anymore -I reconfigured "arcgis" for server, and then /arcgis/home and all the sharing etc stops working again. Is there a way to solve this? In 12.0, one webadaptor works fine (on a single machine deployment). Thanks for any hints... -

Thanks Dan, I'm familiar with this tool, but I'm specifically talking about the Facilities (for levels and other features I manage ;-)). Especially when there are several facilities on a slope, and therefore their ground floor is not on the same height. I just wanted to know if the z-value of the facilities (which are not floor aware) does matter or not or has an impact on geoprocessing tools etc.

Hi, Just do get my thoughts right: For relative heights (Ground floor = 0) -> The z-values of the Facilities are 0. For absolute heights (e.g. Ground floor = 399 (m)) -> The z-values of the Facilities are 399? Or can they be 0 in both cases and it doesn't matter at all? Thanks!

We definitely need this, it would save a lot of work when creating different viewers for different purposes/publics, or from dev to prod environments! At least you should be able to copy the categories file (Indoors Mac Configuration) in AGO-Assistant and then adjust it if necessary. My workaround for now (a bit nasty but it works), but only for copies between web maps: Create a copy of your web map Load the copy into Pro Create default indoors categories (doesn't matter on which layer) Save Web Map (overwrite, keep the same item id) Open AGO-Assistant -> I want to view an items json Select and copy the content of the original Indoors Map Configuration file Open the newly created config file for the new web map and replace its content with the copied content, save the config file

That's most interesting news! Do the z-Values of the created points also get updated according to the level with this method? We are currently in a 11.3 setup and working with a custom editing application to handle the z-Values.

The feature that the tool creates automatically the topmost stair unit is a great feature (as these are usually not modeled as spaces in the IFC). But there's a thing, that might be a side effect. If there are small stairs or steps not transitioning floors, but rather stay on the same floor, the tool creates details and units on the level above, which leads to wrong floor plans (adding stairs where there aren't). These details and units have then to be removed manually. Can someone confirm this behaviour? Thanks, Annina

The Import IFC to Indoor Dataset works quite nice. Yet I have a question about the choice of categories that are imported by default. It looks like that only walls, curtainwallpanels, windows, plates, doors, stairs, plates are imported, but not railings, furniture etc. Especially railings would be super important, as they serve as barriers when creating pathways (e.g. when there are galleries or areaways). Is there a way to add them later to the indoors model, and if so, what would be the workflow? Best, Annina Edit: The workaround I found, is to use the BIM to geodatabase tool, then "create multipatch footprint", then "feature to lines" (make sure you keep all the necessary attributes), then calculate an additional field for "LEVEL_ID" that matches your indoor LEVEL_ID", and then finally append them to the details (using field map to match the use_type and other attributes if necessary). But this quite a hassle and not really convenient if you want to automate updating the indoor db... So, I'm still open for better solutions...

Hi @SCB see also: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-indoors-questions/view-connecting-floors-between-buildings/m-p/1627227#M1090 We had several discussions with Esri about this issue, and I hope they'll address it soon! It gives me hope that they already implemented it in Pro 🙂 In the meantime (not ideal, but least bad) I defined the level 0 for the building with the lowest entry level. But this means that the building on top of the other (or the ones connected on level 2 and 3) do not not have a "ground floor", meaning the start at 1 or even 2, so all the "vertical orders" do connect correctly. The first vertical order of the building on top would be the same as the one of the building underneath. But this means also, that you won't see any "default" level for the buildings without a vertical order 0 in the Web Viewer (if your web map has the default level set to 0). The best for our case would be to not have a default level at all, only when you select the room you want, or your position in the mobile app, the floor picker would select the current floor (or even vertical order), which then applies to all the connected buildings. This, in order to avoid ground floors "shining" through or wrongly look like they're connected. Best!

Same here... I couldn't find a way to modify, overwrite or delete the metadata, even when exporting to another FC the error persists. Even export to shp didn't solve it. The only workaround that did the job was to create a new FC, select all the entities from the original ones in edit mode and paste them into the new FC... (probably append would work also?)

Hey Dough and Molly, Glad to see someone else facing the same challenges 🙂 We even have a building on top of another one connected with stairs and elevators... So yes, yes and yes: filter by vertical order throughout the campus (site) is a must. I think Esri is aware of these use cases, but did so far not provide a suitable solution supported by all apps. The most close to fit our needs came the mobile app version 1, but they changed the floor filter in V2 to look more like the Web/Kiosk/Field Maps. Hi Molly, thanks for sharing! This looks like an interesting solution which I have to check out. Do you also use wayfinding/IPS ? Would you have to use the "alt" fields there too? Best, Annina

Is there a way to configure the blue star and the zoom level when using the home location to start the kiosk mode? Basically our client would like a small red dot and zoomed out to see the whole campus/building. Thanks
