It would be helpful if there was a way to export or import Indoor Categories from one Map item to another. You can "Copy" Categories in the Configure Indoor Categories panel, but that only duplicates the category within the same Map. Creating a duplicate of the entire Map to carry over Categories isn't always ideal, either—for example when working with linked web maps or if you just want to add one new Category to multiple Maps that you maintain (one map for a kiosk, one map for mobile, one map for a Viewer app, etc.)
My specific use case is that I have set up Indoor Categories on a Web Map (AGO) that is configured for the Indoors Viewer app, but I'd like to create a mobile map package for the Mobile app that uses the same categories but which references different data sources. If I open that AGO Web Map in ArcGIS Pro, it comes in to the project as a linked Map. I don't see a way to create a duplicate of that linked Map without it also being linked to the original Web Map, and I'm worried about accidently overwriting it with any changes I make to the Mobile copy. I don't see a way to unlink maps in ArcGIS Pro, either.
It seems like there should be a way to do this without having to recreate all your Categories each time.
That's how I see it too! It absolutely needs an import and export possibility of the Indoors Configuration of a map in Pro!
Ditto!! There needs to be a better way to duplicate / recreate categories across maps!
