I believe I have discovered my issue. I have tried using "Collect Values" after the iterator, but the output of "Collect values" does not work as an input for the Intersect tool. This is documented as Bug NIM052331. Any ideas for a workaround?

Hi Curtis, Can you clarify how you would extent my example above using Iterate Feature Classes and the intersect tool? I'm not clear on exactly how to set it up as the inputs for Iterate Feature Classes differ from the "For" interator...

I'm not sure I am completely understanding you, but if I do that the model runs only 11 times (iterates through only 1 folder), not 33 times.

I have 2 folders, one with 3 shapefiles and one with 11. I want to find the intersection for all possible combinations of the shapefiles in each folder, for a total of 33 resulting intersection shapefiles. I have tried creating 2 sub-models that iterate through the folders, and used the output of each submodel as the inputs for the Intersect tool. However, the model results in only one intersection shapefile. How do I get the intersect tool to use all combinations of the shapefiles? Test_sub2 submodel Test_sub1 submodel

I solved this problem by designating the Name_wl variable as a parameter within the submodel. Then within the main model, I right-clicked on the submodel and chose Make Variable | From Parameter | Names_wl.

I have a model that uses two iterators, and so I am using submodels. However, I am having trouble getting my main model to recognize inline variable substitution for a variable from the submodel. I would like to be able to take data from a bar code or QR code and split it up to populate multiple fields in a survey. For example, QR codes on hunting licenses contain info on hunter first and last name and license #. 1798765432139 4ELWYOMING SPORTSMAN 112345678910 The information I would need to extract is the first 11 characters, which is the license # (17987654321), the following two characters are the hunt area (39), first name is Wyoming and last name is Sportsman. I understand that I can use the substr() function to extract text at known positions, but this would not be sufficient to extract hunter names. It would be great to have more flexibility for extracting text, similar to how text can be extracted in Excel using the functions such as FIND, LEFT, RIGHT, MID, etc.

Thanks James. Are there any plans to allow parsing of variable length strings? This would save users of my survey quite a bit of time. Also, is there any forum where users can requests new features/enhancements in future versions of Survey123?

I have created a Survey123 and shared it with a AGOL Group within my organization. So far everyone but one person has been able to send survey entries. When he attempts to send his entry, he receives Error Code 403: "You do not have permissions to access this resource or perform this operation." No one else is having this problem. He is using an iPhone. Any ideas?

Is it possible to use the numbers appearance type for a barcode question? Some users will scan the barcode, but others whose devices have poor cameras may need to enter the number by hand.

I have a barcode field in my survey form. When the barcode is scanned, the resulting number is always in the format XX-XXXX. On some devices used within my agency, the camera is not sensitive enough to scan the barcode, so the number must be entered by hand. Is there a way to set the formatting for this field so that the dash is always there, and the user can simply enter the 6 digits?

I'm interested in saving favorite answers for only a few fields. The only way I have been able to do this is to save the incomplete favorite answer survey as a draft...Is there a more intuitive way to accomplish this?
