Brad, Hi and yes, I'm now using Pro 2.8, and while its better than before, one still doesn't have the option to adjust the offset distance units like in the old ArcMap address locators. it only uses meters, using which ever coordinate system your geocoding reference road base is. I haven't explored every coordinate system but I haven't found one with feet that allows for the making of address locators for Maine to Washington State without changing the coordinate sys for each state. my quick work around is 20ft offset = 6.096 meters, so we use the conversion. a pulldown option would be great. Thanks

This Old guy is still a few years out from retirement so I'll still be battling for the foreseeable future. I hope you can see from these clips, that ESRI is aware of these problems, and is working on it. and whenever Pro 2.8 comes out we'll take another look at switching from our ArcGIS 10.x Geocoder to the create Locators of ArcGIS Pro. Brian In my case 20ft wasn't 20ft when coming out of the create locator (Pro2.7), the east west distance was diferent than north south, as you can see the fix is said to in Pro 2.8, Holding breath!! The ability to choose which distance type ie feet, meters, miles etc. are not an option that could be selected from a pulldown menu In both ArcGIS 10.x and pre Pro2.7 "Legacy" coders, you could set these parameters. 20ft used to be 20ft no matter the Axis.

Good Evening, I see with the New ArcPro 2.7 update, we will no longer be able to use ArcPro for our Geocoding projects utilizing the legacy Address locator. We will have to now use exclusively ArcMap10x for these projects for the foreseeable future. It seems strange that while we are supposed to migrate our workflows to ArcPro because while its the platform that's the future at ESRI, we're forced in this case, to now regress back to Arcmap10x for this issue. Is coding the offsets variables back into the program that difficult? there appears to be more than enough space in the interface. I have no comprehension on how hard it is to duplicate the process from the legacy tools to add those offset options back into the ArcPro Version. but it would save us the pain of backwards movement. Thanks for letting me vent about this issue. Brian

In ArcGIS Pro Add: Spelling Sensitivity Side Offset Side Offset Units End Offset End Offset Units Into the Geocoding options for the New Create Locator Tool in Pro 2.6. These options have been with the Geocoding tools in both ArcMap 10.x and ArcGIS Pro almost forever. Our company uses these options for custom geocoding and its elimination has huge consequences for our future use of this product. Examples: The current Create Locator Tool in Pro 2.6 The Legacy Address Locator Tool: Please Vote this Up!!!!

Hi Shana Currently, that is not possible. we will continue to use the ArcMap legacy geocoders until these option are added to the ArcGIS Pro Address Locators. Thanks again Brian

Shana In the sample below is a small zoomed in clip of one of the many types of Spatial joins we process. In this case the green area is a rough representation of an service area submitted for processing and due to the size and scope of the geography, snapping the polygons to match the road base is time prohibited. By increasing the offset of the address points to say offset 35 ft, in this case, allows for a higher percentage of correct analysis being obtained. Depending on the quality of the service area, offset adjustments have been made to the geocoders offsets, and the appropriate coded addresses are run against the particular national service areas. Tight for tight, loose for loose. Its a little extreme but a 2 ft offset, which we rarely would use, would both add and eliminate address depending on the quality of the service area and we found that certain offset settings work best with certain service areas. In relation to spelling, historically we run it pretty tight, however we haven't run a recent analysis to see how the newer ArcGIS Pro 2.6 Locator likes or dislikes misspellings. Not being able to adjust offsets is a game changer, in the wrong direction us at TR Thanks -Brian

Aaahhh, my bad, I just realized in re-reading my question, help said ArcMap not ArcGIS, good catch, all my locator experience is with in-house local desktop machine work, I've never worked with published or geocoding services to be shared online, Thanks.

I’ve been banging around with the latest version (2.6 Pro) of the Address Locator Tool and have come up with a few Issues: 1. I don’t understand in the HELP section what this means? “Locators created by this tool cannot be used as a local locator in ArcMap.” -Does this mean we cannot use the Create Locator Tool when using ArcGIS Pro installed on a Local Desktop Machine? 2. When using the New Create Locator tool in 2.6 for what I assume is a very basic or standard Address Locator, using in the locator pane, right click, Properties, you cannot adjust the Geocoding option to change how far off a road or line segments the Geocoded address is to be offset? Or spelling sensitivity options? The "Legacy" Tool: The "new" Address Locator Tool from Pro 2.6 Am I missing where in the new version, where one can adjust the placement options for the outputs from the Address Locator? Thanks Brian

Any chance your data is joined to another table? Are you using right click from layer or feature contents pane to access export data via feature class to feature class tool? I don't believe the tool can switch your table data around or assign data, attributes that aren't already there, ie good data in good data out. I wish I had the magic answer 4 you.

As a "Basic" ArcGIS Pro user, I'm stunned at what Pro can and will do across an amazing breath of GIS applications. I await to see if speeds have increased for menu, button and clickable actions is better as rumored for 2.5. Is it safe to say ESRI intends to make ArcGIS Pro the "Windows" operating system style, GIS "operating system" for everybody, software in the future? I don't mean that as a negative but more as a nod to the fact that most of us use Microsoft as the operating system on our PC's as the platform most of our applications to use as the background. Will the day come that sees everybody using ESRI for base of its GIS operations? Could be.

Afternoon Curtis, I couldn’t get your model to work, I’m sure it’s something simple. I have 5 like tables in a dir., I would like a table output that has a list of 5 rows with populated filename in a column and a count in an adjacent count field. Does this model do this? And if so, how do I get it to work? which one calls the other? Thanks.

Afternoon Curtis, Thanks, I've looked the tools you've created however I'm not sure in what sequence I need to run the models in. It appears in batch, both tools output a single table with 1 row and 1 count. Does one need to be connected to another?
