Yup, it looks like you can only add tools to the QAT from the edit-tools, not the Analysis-tools, or directly from the geoprocessing Toolboxes either, using right click. After reading your above link in the ArcGis Blog, I'm continuing to see if I can do this, I could be miss something obvious.

Yup, I also found this Bug?, tried it repeatedly but no joy, I finally used the add field tool to get r done. p.s. Is there a limit to how many tools can be added to the Quick Access Bar? I would like to add the Add field tool to the Quick Access Toolbar.....

I’ve added many tools to my Geoprocessing Favorites, is there a way or organize or sort those tools?

I also was just looking for a simple way to add a temporary graphic box or text in my layers dataview, and I now remember one of the things ArcPro dosn't do. Unless I missing something reading above, S sunny never got a reply. This should be a very simple thing to able to add a graphic to the layers dataframe, then when not needed anymore, select and delete, or for that matter, select the graphic an convert to feature? I may be jumping the gun but has not this simple Issue been added to Pro yet? its very possible that it been resolved but in searching, Im not seeing it, everything appears to ref Arcmap10x not Pro. Thanks for reading my rant.

Thanks Curtis, however our input data is in a "primitive" dbf format so I think Im stuck. I did try to put my dbf into a geodatabase, thinking that it would then maintain my LAT & LON formats but no joy. Whats strange is that when you look at the output field properties, it does have the correct field formats listed, but after the tool runs it goes back to per 13., scale11. Do you know of a way to set a option to force the tool to maintain formats? our data for the near future will always be in a dbf format. Is there another format I could pre-convert the dbf to, that Arc will maintain formats. Thanks Brian

In ARCGIS 10.5.1 or ARCPRO 2.0.1, Why when I use a dbf with a NUM Field LON 11.6 and a NUM Field LAT 10.6 into a Make event Layer tool the resulting shape file has converted them Both FLOAT 19.11? Can I prevent this from Happening? Typically, after converted to a shape file, have to change the LON & LAT back using FOXPRO or whatever database editing program I have. I understand that possibly there’s a schema issue maybe involved, but I don’t understand how they work in relation to Tool use. And also, when converting an Excel file into ARCGIS as a table, then exporting, it also loses all previous field length formats, how do I maintain the input file field lengths and format Types? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Brian

Cool, but isn’t there a processing speed advantage to writing to memory vs writing to a scratch gdb which to my limited understanding, is still writing to the HD? I’ve never utilized the scratch GDB option. I assumed that writing to memory then cleansing or Deleting each time would be quicker? My initial model had after intersection, writing to a shapefile and then writing just the 2 fields I wanted out to my final processed file. Thanks

ok, I removed the feature Class to Feature Class portion of the Model and the Intersection portion, writing to in_memory worked. I then re-added the Feature class to feature class tool from scratch and viola it worked!!!!! perfect! is there a way to delete the in_memory after each intersection process or do I have to wait until the whole process has completed, I have to run this for 25+ point files and will have a couple of multi million record counts. and I still dont know why since we installed 10.5, I get the warning message (in yellow)but it keeps churning along. Thanks everyone for the help. Brian

Yep x2 Ive taken .shp off, still no Joy it's got to be simple, maybe something in my naming? but I don't see it.............. my layer names within my geodatabase are: D_MDCL01_p_2010 D_MDMEDAA_p_2010 they seem normal to me? I wish the error codes were more helpful Thanks

In ModelBuilder I’m iterating multiple shapefiles to intersect against a single point layer, then write out using feature Class to Feature Class tool (I only want 2 columns in the output file). I would like to have the Intersection output "in_memory" for quicker processing. I also need to have the input polygon filename in the final output. This works without the "in_memory" Seeing the error message below is leading me to believe my issue is that I can't combine "in_memory" with a %name% inline variable as output of my intersect tool? Also if I can accomplish this, won't I need to change my Feature Class to Feature Class tools input to in_memory also? Any Help is appreciated Thanks Brian

Thanks Jayanta, Ive dug around a bit looking for this option and came up empty. Hopefully its something esri will implement into Arcpro before we're all forced to switch over from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro.
