@JoanRay Adding to what Geetesh said, the quick-start tutorials (point 4) all have companion videos - usually around 10 minutes. You can access them individually from the tutorial help pages, but there's also a youtube playlist of all of them. Take a look at the Common skills for working with data in ArcGIS Pro tutorial series on the Esri tutorials site. In addition to the UI reference page Geetesh mentioned (point 2), the Introduction to ArcGIS Pro help page is a good annotated overview of the UI with explanations of some basic Pro elements like views and panes.

Hi Anthea, Changes to indexing UI and functionality were made at the 3.2 release, but the setting to turn off indexing in the Pro.settingsConfig file didn't change. This is the file you mean, right? It still works as expected according to our testing on a 3.3 software version. <Catalog> <EnableIndexing isLocked="true">false</EnableIndexing> </Catalog> If it doesn't work for you, are you able to open a case with Esri Support and have them troubleshoot the problem? Hi LyonMNGIS, I don't think there's an obvious reason why the indexer would fail on you--there's no record limitation, for instance. It might be encountering bad data somewhere in the file, but that seems questionable since you're able to index the same data (right?) without problems in ArcCatalog. You should probably open a case with technical support so they can repro and diagnose the problem. If you don't have support authorization, I think you can still open a case with them because it's a software bug--at least it seems to be. Btw, this index is referred to in our doc as the "resource index." See How projects are indexed. But I'm not sure that name is widely known, and your suggestion on the ArcGIS Ideas site of "Data catalog index" or something like that might be better.

@ZachBodenner hi, I know the solution you all have in mind is a filter that doesn't depend on a prebuilt index, but just wanted to mention in response to Zach's comment about searching the project, that IF you index the egdb, or whatever workspace, it is possible to search it exclusively by browsing to it in a catalog view.

@ZachBodenner the database in your screenshot is an enterprise geodatabase. Those aren't indexed by default (therefore not searched). Same for network drives. You can turn indexing on for these locations in the ArcGIS Pro Options dialog box. Not sure if that's a complete solution for you, but if you haven't tried it, give it a try. The requested functionality is available through a clickable path that appears on the Info page and on the project name drop-down list on the title bar next to the QAT.

Hi Ed, The project path on the Info page is now clickable and opens the project's File Explorer location. That's why the Open Project Location button was removed. Same behavior in the project name drop-down list on the application title bar.

Hi Amy, At 3.4, the ability to target a specific version for updates was added. This can be configured individually by users (if the admin allows it) so that different users can update to different versions. It's a little different from what you suggested in terms of implementation, but it might achieve the same purpose. See Update ArcGIS Pro > Configure update notifications. Tim

Hi, yes, it's a blessing and a curse to have so many resources. You've identified a good selection. I would start with the Try ArcGIS Online tutorial, the last one in your list. As for these two series: Essential ArcGIS Online skills Get started with ArcGIS Online I think I would do Get started with ArcGIS Online before Essential ArcGIS Online, but I'm not sure it really matters. I think you can kind of pick and choose the tutorials that look interesting to you or that fit the time you have available. (I always double the amount of time they say it takes. I guess I'm kind of a slow worker.) You'll see some overlapping content in these series--for instance, the Get started with ArcGIS Online tutorial also appears in the Modern GIS series. My advice would be to concentrate on the tutorials--less emphasis on the videos and articles. They can be interesting, but I think hands-on experience is best. Note that the tutorials have a Send Us Feedback link at the bottom. You can use that if you encounter any glitches. Good luck!

Hi @M__DavidJohnson,
I think by "online version" you mean ArcGIS Online--which is not the same thing as ArcGIS Pro. They are complementary and interrelated products--for example, you can share maps back and forth--but not the same. To do the exercises in the Top 20 Essential Skills book, you do need the trial version of ArcGIS Pro. That's available here: https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-pro/trial.
Alternatively, start your learning experience with ArcGIS Online. GIS skills are GIS skills no matter which product you use. Take a look at the free tutorial gallery at https://learn.arcgis.com/en/gallery/. Filter on All Products = ArcGIS Online and All Levels = Beginner. If you're using the free public version of ArcGIS Online, filter on All Accounts = Public.

Hi Wayfaring Rob, you can do this in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box. 1. Anywhere in Pro, click F12 to open the Keyboards Shortcuts dialog. 2. Expand the Global heading. 3. Uncheck the box for the Delete command. (Or click the x to remove the shortcut entirely.) 4. Click Save. Go to some item in the catalog, select it, and press Ctrl+D. Nothing happens. No delete prompt.

Hm, to my knowledge you can't change temporarily change the function of a tool with the Keyboard Shortcuts UI. You can create shortcuts for commands that don't have them, and you can change the keystrokes assigned to existing shortcuts, but I don't think you can make a shortcut that assigns new behavior to an active tool.

Hi Alfred, You can create a shortcut for the Rectangle Zoom Out tool using the Keyboard Shortcuts UI. It can be Shift+Z or whatever you want. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/manage-keyboard-shortcuts.htm > Add a new command and shortcut
