Hi, see this idea which is under consideration: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/quot-save-it-later-quot-without-creating-a-new/idi-p/941742 Is that the same as what you want?

Hi, another good resource for you might be https://learn.arcgis.com/en/projects/choose-the-right-projection/ It's a hands-on tutorial at an introductory level. It includes concepts and practical applications of the concepts--like visualizing the distortion caused by different types of projections.

Hi TamT, thank you for drawing attention to this. The ArcGIS Pro development team has logged an issue to fix this behavior. I can't give you a time estimate, but it is being tracked now. Thanks again! Tim

oh, I see... would setting a reference scale for the map work for you? Map reference scales You can do that on a per-layer basis within the map.

Hi Maureen, you can apply scale-based sizing to all the symbols in a layer. The option is on the Symbology pane, under Format Point Symbol, on the Properties tab. Described in the help topic Scale-based symbol sizing

As far as I know, maps and layouts always open stacked on top of the active view. I don't think you can change this in the UI. When a map opens next to a table, it's because the table view was active when you opened the map. If you make a map view active instead, or close the table view first, then the new map (or layout) will open in the expected location.

Hi, try setting the user interface options for working with views and see if that helps. See this help topic: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/get-started/user-interface-options.htm

Hi Scott, your image shows that you're trying to add a geodatabase as a folder connection. The Name box will only be populated if you select a folder in that right-hand window. Browse up one level so all those folders appear in the right-hand window and it should work.

Hi, hope this isn't too late to be of use. There are a couple of ways to thin out the display of all those wolf packs: Use a definition query. Use a display filter. You can also select a subset of the features and export it to a new dataset, but I'd probably go with one of the first two approaches. As for singling out the state of Washington--I don't think that's possible on a basemap like the one in your image. But you can search online for U.S. state boundary layers (same way you found the wolf data). You can then apply a definition query or display filter so that only Washington appears on the map. Then you would turn off the basemap or dim it or something. Btw when you search ArcGIS Online for data in Pro, search results are sorted by default on Date Modified. To find a good U.S. states layer easily, change that sort key to Relevance instead.

@Mikhail yes, like @David_Brooks said... in the upper right corner of ArcGIS Pro you should see your user name and the name of your organization. Like this: The user name and organization name must be the same as the ArcGIS Online account where your web map is stored. You may be signed in to a different portal in Pro--or not be signed in to a portal at all. These help topics may be useful: Sign in to your organization Manage portal connections from ArcGIS Pro

one more option: set a display filter. Similar to a definition query in its visual effect, but doesn't change the attribute table display or field calculations/stats/etc. Those operations still work on all features in the layer, whereas a definition query excludes them.

Hi Tatjana, you can make a selection layer from your selected feature. Select the feature of interest in your layer. In the Contents pane, right-click the layer, point to Selection, choose Make Layer From Selected Features. Turn off your original layer. Now you have a layer pointing to the same data but displaying only the feature of interest. Alternatively, make a definition query on your layer. Select the feature of interest. Get its unique identifier (like OBJECTID) from the attribute table or pop-up. Open the layer properties for your layer. Click the Definition Query side tab. Construct a query where OBJECTID = 1 (whatever the value of the feature is) Click OK. This will hide the other features in the layer without creating a new layer.
