In the Map Details, I've checked the Behavior box to "start in presentation mode when opened by others" (see attached graphic) but it seems not to be working. I've had a couple of people test it and the map opens for them in the ordinary Mapping mode. Am I doing something wrong? Sometimes I have polygon features in a map service that are too small to show up well at a lot of online map scales. As a workaround, I've added map notes to surround these polys and draw attention to them. Now, in Explorer Online at least, you can also make a feature service from them and symbolize them with thick outlines, which is kind of okay. But I would like an option that lets you render polygons with point or line symbols. ... View more

When you configure a pop-up window for a map service using the "Description from one field" choice, the name of the field is suppressed. All you see is the value. It would be better to see the field name (or alias) in front of it. The value needs some context to be meaningful. Am I not seeing how to do this? It shouldn't be necessary to use the "Custom attribute display" choice to achieve this simple objective. ... View more

Hi, when I do a query the result features are highlighted in blue, but one of them -- whichever one is pointed at in the query box -- is highlighted in red. See attachment. Is there some way to give all the features equal status (all blue)? My issue is I want to take a screen capture of the map showing query results but I don't want to draw attention to one particular feature. Can't figure out how to do this. Another problem, same context, is that if you close the query window you lose the query. I want to close or minimize the query window to get it out of the way so I can make a screen capture of a fairly zoomed in view of a large geographic area (the US) with the query results showing but not the query window. If I add a layer (map service) to a map, then show the map contents, then click the layer and open its description, the description opens in the same browser tab as the map (Firefox 4). It should open in a new tab or window because you can't go back to where you were. When you click the Go Back button in the browser, you lose any changes you had made to the map, such as having zoomed in to a location. And there's no warning -- nothing that says "save the map before you look at the description." (Which you shouldn't have to do in my opinion.) Thanks, Tim ... View more
