Hi, Can anyone provide some insight as to why I am unable to execute my Arcade Expression? I can successfully test it but it will not let me execute it. I just learned how to use Data Expressions today with help from this community so I am very green. Here's what my data expression looks like, while returning the correct number for "Count": var features = FeatureSetByPortalItem(Portal('https://arcgis.com'), '5a735badf3114a3ba63e2a01b3cb1a68', 0, ['ACTIVE_ELE'], false); Count(Features); Then, when I press done and return to the previous page, I get this message: This isn't the final script I want to use but I'm just playing with things for the time being. Thank you! Jenny

Hi Josh, Would I write the Data Expression here?: And write them here: Since I didn't pick any layers, there is nothing under "Globals" so, how would I write the expressions? Thank you!

Hi, I'm relatively new to using Arcade and I have been scouring the Internet, trying to figure out how to use Arcade Expressions for the List widget on Dashboard. I am simply trying to display my data like a table, using the List widget. I know that a Table widget is currently in the works but, in the meantime, I would like to use Arcade within the List widget to display my data. So far, I haven't had any luck getting my data to display in the List widget when using Arcade Expressions. The "Feature" functions don't work for me at all and I only have "$datapoint" available as my Global functions. I don't understand the difference between the two. I have found a few posts where people are using Arcade to display their data in a table format but, I have tried to replicate their expressions with no success. Here is my data: I'm hoping to display the data in a table and for it to look something like this: And here's how it gets displayed in under the Advanced Formatting, in the List widget: As you can see, FeatureSet, FeatureSetByAssociation, etc. are unavailable to me. I also tried using any function with my data just to see what it would look like: And it doesn't work as I have to use FeatureSet. Is there anything wrong with my data? I don't know how to get "FeatureSet" to display on the List widget. I looked to see if FeatureSet was available to me in the pop-ups and it is: I tried following these instructions to display my data in the List widget, in a table-like format: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-dashboards-questions/arcade-dashborad-add-new-values-into-hosted-table/m-p/1079568 Any insight would be helfpul! Thank you, Jenny

Hi Peter, Thank you for the reply. Despite following those steps, I still was unable to get my data to append properly. I believe it might be due to my limited roles as I am not an admin for my organization on ArcGIS Online. Thank you for your help though, Jenny

Hi Alix, I ended up having to scrap the project I was working on since we couldn't get past a firewall to constantly update the data. However, I was wondering whether the Smart Editor would allow us to edit non-spatial features of the layers? From what I read, the tool is oriented towards enabling users to update spatial-related data (e.g. geometry, attributes at intersection and addresses). If I wanted to use the Smart Editor widget to get users to just update attributes of a field displaying number of election votes per candidate, is there any way for me to reconfigure the data to get the widget to work in that manner? Thank you, Jenny

Hi, I created a Web Map with two different infographics displaying the number of votes per political party/candidate. These numbers will need to be updated every ten minutes or so, and I tested out whether "Update Data"/"Append data to layer" would properly update the data inside the infographics. It did something very strange - instead of displaying the proper numbers in the updated table, it multiplied the values! I have appended the table multiple times now but, it keeps multiplying the values - in this instance, multiplying the number of votes. I want to be able to click the box "Update existing features" but it is grayed out. I have unique IDs in my Excel sheet but for some reason, it does not show in the Feature Layer table. Has anyone ever experienced something like this before? Please see screenshots below for reference. Thank you, Jenny

Hi Chris, Right after posting my question, I went to check my Hosted Feature Layer item details (thanks to another post that Andrea addressed) and saw that I hadn't enabled the editing options! I will be testing that out right after I finish typing this out. As for the "Edit" button in Web Map, I did read that in another post saying that it needed to be enabled too but I am unable to find it. I tried looking near the "Save: or "Add" button and can't find it. Do you see it: Thank you! Jenny

Hi, I was researching effective ways of updating values in the attribute table either on Web Map or Web App and while I learned that it is possible to "append" the data for the attribute data by reuploading a new .csv file, I stumbled upon the "Smart Editor" widget. I have been trying to test this widget out with my current data with little success - when I try to enable one of my layers by having it be "Editable", it will not let me select it. I have uploaded these files as "Feature Layers" and they have been added to my Web Map with no issue. These layers also work with other widgets such as the Infographic one so, I am uncertain as to what I am doing wrong. All of my layers are grayed out... I would love for this widget to work for me! I know that Alix Vezina has been helping out a lot for these questions related specifically to Smart Editor so I would love for some guidance. Thank you, Jenny

I also have this problem. About eight months ago, I had no problem uploading my Excel sheet (.csv format) and have it recognized by the Infographic widget. This is no longer the case today and I am really curious as to what has changed. I know that Esri prefers .csv files and my Excel sheet needed to have some geographic elements to it (i.e. XY coordinates, or LONG-LAT). Maybe that could help your case?

Hi Jason, I had that idea shortly after posting this! I posted it here but, still no reply! I also asked that question to someone who was conducting a BAO seminar and they told me that this feature is not yet available.

It would be great if infographics could incorporate some elements of the "time slider" widget, where the data shown on the infographic would appear progressively with the time. What would be even greater would be to have the infographic work simultaneously with the time slider widget, so that the elements appearing on the map would coincide with the data on the infographic. So far, I have not been able to tweak the infographic widget to do any of this and I have no idea whether it is possible to do this on BAO. The only Web Mapping Application that I have seen do this successfully is the "U.S. Precipitation Forecast" but there was a lot of coding involved to create such an application. Licenses are also required to try and replicate this it seems. Thank you! Jenny

Hi, I want to create a map showing all the changes made across Canada within a month - I have used the Web AppBuilder displaying the type of changes made across the country and have enabled my data to be time aware therefore, the map displays all the daily changes made thanks to the "Time Aware" Map template, or to the Widget "Time slider". Now, I would like an infographic to be linked to this map and show all of the changes made cumulatively throughout the month, and for it to be synchronized with the time slider, changing day by day. I haven't encountered any tutorials demonstrating this yet, and my organization does not yet have the license for Business Analyst Online. I would like to know if any of this is possible before I ask my organization to get a license for this. Thank you, Jenny

I was wondering whether it would be possible to have the infographic widget incorporate the same type of "time awareness" that the time slider widget currently has. I have a map displaying all the type of changes made throughout a month (with the time slider widget) and in my Web AppBuilder, I have the infographic widget in the Dashboard Theme showing all of the changes made throughout the month but, I would want the data in the infographic to display the changes made daily and be synchronized with the time slider. I've tried using the "Operations Dashboard" to have my infographic to time sensitive and was unsuccessful. In addition, the "Operations Dashboard" does not seem to have the "Time Slider" widget so, I cannot use it. Thank you!

I had this problem too and I'm not sure if it would apply to your case but, I figured that the reason why certain fields weren't showing up was due to the fact that the values were not numeric. I think the infographic only acknowledges fields that are numeric. I had a layer displaying many different fields and I wanted to tick off 5 fields and have it displayed as a line graph but, those fields could not be selected in the "Value fields". However, they did show up in the "Category field" so for sure it uploaded properly... The only solution I found to this was to simply take the values I needed (so the five fields for the data and the date) and randomly assign coordinates to them on an Excel sheet. Then, in "My Content", I clicked on "Add Item" and uploaded the Excel sheet (saved as .csv). Then, on my Web Map, I added the layer to my map and launched the Web AppBuilder and there, I was able to tick off the five attributes I needed (they had numeric values attached to them on the Excel sheet whereas on the layer file, the data was written in a different manner). I know it's two years later but, I figured I could provide some insight?
