What if you wanted the public users to have an account so you can keep track of who is submitting information to your survey? Can only users with a public account access your survey?

A scheduler to run python notebooks would be very helpful. We've developed some scripts to automate some of our regular workflow, but we still need to manually open up the script and run it. If we could set a schedule of when it would run we could fully automate our workflow.

It would be extremely useful to be able to reorder and rename fields of a feature service. I'm aware you can change the alias and reorder in a map through the popup configuration, but I'm looking for the ability to change the feature service itself. There's a few reasons this would be useful. 1) We often download the geodatabase to deliver to clients, we would like to keep the order uniform across datasets. Since esri can't meet this need we convert them to an excel file and reorder there. 2) We're starting to use python scripts more, where we are often performing similar tasks across our datasets. Not all of our datasets have the exact same field names ('Surveyor', 'surveyor', 'observer' when these are all the same). Since the scripts use the field names, we can't apply them programmatically across our datasets. If we could rename our fields we could fix this issue. Our current alternative is to download the dataset, change it in pro, republish, reconfigure, update the scripts, which is time prohibitive.

The conversion of a table to a pandas spatial data-frame recently stopped working for us. Was there a change to the API recently? Is there a limit on the number of records this function can process? Other datasets of ours are working fine with the same code. Here is what we are trying: feature_layers = gis.content.get('xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx') data = pd.DataFrame.spatial.from_layer(feature_layers.tables[0])

PARTIAL SOLUTION: You can now create a join on AGOL between the layer and related record, keeping only the latest record or adding summery statistics from the corresponding records. To symbolize by latest inspection: Analysis --> Summarize Data --> Join Features In box 4: Join one to one. Select "Define which record is kept." Select "Order By". Order by your date field, sort by Newest. Check "Create results as hosted feature layer view" You'll then have a new layer that you can use to symbolize by the latest related record. It updates automatically as the data changes in the original records/layer. The limitation with this solution is you can't have a join/view layer on Collector map you plan on taking offline. If you try to download this map it will fail, which is a known limitation.

It would be great if the hint text wrapped to new lines. We often want to display a paragraph of text to the user so they can accurately fill out the attribute. Additionally, it should also be visible for attributes with domains, and visible without having to click on the attribute.

The ArcGIS Collector edit popup needs to be customizable, similar to how the display popup is customizable with the Custom Attribute Display option. Essentially, our field teams need more on screen information to fill out each field in a new feature. We need a note before each attribute so the field worker has the relevant information to fill out the attribute correctly. Ideally this note would be dynamic, displaying different information based on other attributes. All that needs to be done is apply the Custom Attribute Display to the edit popup. Then we can use custom expressions to generate the necessary text.

I am getting a sync issue when I try to download a map in collector that has a joined feature in it. I created the joined feature using the analysis tool on ArcGIS Online between a feature and it's related table. Here is the error I am getting: Domain: com.esri.arcgis.runtime.error Code: 1002 Description: invalid uuid string Ultimately I am trying to symbolize a layer based on data in a related table. We have records of inspections and I want the symbology to changed based on the latest status of the most recent inspection.

We are also receiving the same error with a feature service that was working just a few weeks ago. This behavior occurs on both Android and iPhone (Collector classic). We rebuilt and republished the feature service, and then tested the service again. We were able to sync data once republished on multiple devices. Shortly after republishing, we received the same error on a device (Android) that we successfully tested and synced. Would love to get a solution to this quickly! Thank you!

We were also experiencing this issue on a feature layer that had previously (and recently) been working. Tried the suggested fixes per Bridgette and other -- these did not work. Also tried deleting and republishing the map. The feature layer in question has a filter which excludes all data. We added a dummy point to the layer to resolve the issue temporarily. Wondering if there is another solution???

Hi Kylie - We have several use cases where we need to copy attributes and a location into an existing layer. This functionality is particularly important for maintaining consistency of a data set where most of the attributes in the form and location are unchanged across data collection events. For example: many features have a predefined ID (or other value) which may be unknown (or unfamiliar) to the individual collecting data in the field. It is also important to maintain the same spatial location -- since the feature location is fixed and does not change. Collector Classic provides the required functionality and we have been using this successfully for several years. With Collector for ArcGIS (new Collector), we would have to copy the feature and then update all the attributes in the form. This is problematic for the following reasons: 1. If the field is locked or hidden in the underlying feature layer, this is not possible 2. This introduces the possibility of data entry errors for each entry 3. Significantly increases data entry effort/time The new features and functionality in Collector for ArcGIS are fantastic. Unfortunately, many of our workflows depend on this feature that is only available in Collector Classic. So...we are currently using Collector classic ONLY. Thank you.
