It would be extremely useful to be able to reorder and rename fields of a feature service. I'm aware you can change the alias and reorder in a map through the popup configuration, but I'm looking for the ability to change the feature service itself. There's a few reasons this would be useful.
1) We often download the geodatabase to deliver to clients, we would like to keep the order uniform across datasets. Since esri can't meet this need we convert them to an excel file and reorder there.
2) We're starting to use python scripts more, where we are often performing similar tasks across our datasets. Not all of our datasets have the exact same field names ('Surveyor', 'surveyor', 'observer' when these are all the same). Since the scripts use the field names, we can't apply them programmatically across our datasets. If we could rename our fields we could fix this issue. Our current alternative is to download the dataset, change it in pro, republish, reconfigure, update the scripts, which is time prohibitive.
