Update for KGerrow-esristaff‌ ! I realized that I cannot change item owner when the item is shared in a group with update capabilities, even if both old and new owners belong to the same group and have the same role. I need to do so, since owner is no longer a member of the organization and someone else needs to take care of the items. Does this mean that in order to change an item's ownership, the item must be un-shared, changed and shared again? Is there an easy way to do this for 60 items? Thanks...

Hey Kelly, Our situation is very similar to Meg's. We have various groups of small people who should work on the same content, but only the one owning the items can do so. In our organization, this translates into sharing users: people give their passwords to their workmates, which we want to avoid. We thought groups with shared update capabilities would solve that, since updating a feature layer was already possible before by using an edit template and sharing it with a group. Another example is the crowdsource storymap we've been using for one of our projects. One user alone needs to take care of approving new submissions, if someone else wanted to do so it had to be done Anyway, right now the only group work possibility we found so far for apps is either they share users or the administrator has to keep changing items' ownership. Hey Kelly, Users are editing apps and maps, not the features loaded in them. I know your suggestion would work if users wanted to edit the data iself. It would even work for crowdsource app, that requires validation of new contributions... and validation is just a field value. Cheers!

Hi, I've been working with groups in which all members can update shared items. The functionality is really interesting since group work is very common in my organization, and this really solves the problem of having only one person applying changes. I've read that so far, apps cannot be shared with this type of group because they do not support this functionality yet. Does anyone know when will it be supported? Also, I've encountered some trouble when two users work on the same map. User1 creates and shares the item with the group, and then User2 can make changes on it. However, if User1 uses https and User2 does not, User1 cannot edit the map after User2, unless User1 changes to http. If User1 stays with https, everytime a map is opened in the map viewer a new blank map loads, never the saved one. I have not tested whether this behaviour stays when working with other item types. This is a bypass to this problem, but not a real solution. Also, some of the users in my organization are new GIS users, and this issue becomes a handicap for them to use ArcGIS Online. Is this a bug or a configuration issue? Thank you guys in advance!

I’m working with a shortlist using data “as is” from a feature service that I’m hosting (ArcGis Server). Everything works just fine while I’m editing my app, but when I try to do the shortlist preview the app won’t load: “Application is initializing. We have been working with a story map crowdsource app for a while now. We just realized that user's cannot add contributions. We have tried using different browsers and different accounts or guest users, and we get this message when submitting the contribution: "An unknown error has occurred and your contribution could not be saved. Refresh your browser and try again." However, when we try to add a contribution while signed in with the user who owns the app or the organization administrator, we have no problem submitting and approving new contributions. We don't know how long has this been going on but the last contribution someone made as a guest user was on March, 20th. Any tips on how can we fix this? Thank you in advance!

Hi guys, I have this story map crowdsource, and for the last couple of days I haven't been able to edit it. I can access and check the information as a regular user, but once I click on "Edit story" the button "Explore Map" doesn't load, and I cannot get past the welcome image. I need to be able to edit the story in order to be able to approve new contributions. The day before yesterday I had no trouble when editing the story, and I haven't made any changes to the app or the map. Any tips? Thanks, Laura

Hi, I have followed this post to develop a custom Story Map Crowdsource application. Everything works well but now I want to deploy it for production but I saw that I couldn’t upload my custom code and that I have to deploy it on a server and link it from ArcGis Online. Then I decided to put it on an internal server of the company, but it doesn’t work at all and I don’t know why. The internal server works under IIS. So when I compiled the application with grunt I tried to put the “build” folder in “inetpub/wwwroot” but the index.html doesn’t find the “src/app” folder files. Then I tried to put all the project in “inetpub/wwwroot” but IIS doesn’t recognize it as a valid directory. I wanted to know how can I deploy my custom code on an internal IIS server or apache because I couldn't find anything on the forum. Thank you in advance!

Thank you Owen, now the map loads properly! I realize crowdsource story maps are on beta, and you guys keep working on improving it. Still, I would like to ask if all these changes ESRI is implementing lately that make the app not work properly are something occasional or regular. This particular story map type is exactly what we need for a project we are starting and we would love to use it, but for the past week we haven't been able to use it much. Cheers, Laura

Hello Owen, Thanks for the tip! Yesterday the map worked fine with my browser, no need to change the language. Today, however, the map doesn't load, even though this time it allows me to create a new one. I have not edited neither the map nor the app for the last few weeks. I add a screenshot of the error. Can I fix this somehow, or does this have to do with the update as well? Thanks again, Laura

Hello everyone, I have an story map crowdsource and I am not able to open it. I tried today for the fist time in a few days, and the page doesn't load. I got a script error in the console so I tried creating a new one from scratch, and the same message comes up. I'm adding a screenshot. I see the resource https://amb1.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StoryMapCrowdsource/resources/translations/viewer/nls/template.js loads properly but not https://amb1.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StoryMapCrowdsource/resources/translations/viewer/nls/es/template.js Is this related to the update in arcgis online this week? Hi, I would like to modify the form that appears in the crowsource story map to add other gui components from dojo that are different to those that currently appear. For instance, in the "Tree survey" story map appears the option to select between different options regarding the status of the tree the user is currently uploading. By default, the story map template does not incorporate this type of component. In case that I want to use this approach for capturing information or, for instance, if I would like to use a dijit.form.MultiSelect component, which will be the easisest way to implement it? Would it be neccessary to host the modified template in my web server (I have one in my organization) and then point to the external application from ArcGIS Online? Many thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I created an app using the crowdsource builder, and I have modified some components outside the builder by adding some extra fields. I used the ago-assistant to modifiy the json to do so. The app works fine, but my concern is whether it will keep working fine after a final release (not beta) is launched. I would like to know if the feature layer content will be intact, and if I will be able to add the extra fields later to keep them. I would also like to know if there is an estimated date for the final release. Thank you in advance!
